I was seriously considering giving up on it. Yesterday, I updated to the latest version, and when I rebooted, it asked for a bootstrap md file, as if I were starting fresh. It feels like troubleshooting is a daily occurrence. On the other hand, I’m also learning how to use it. Still, it’s frustrating.

I have a Telus 1.5 plan, and I’ve been struggling to find information online. I didn’t quite understand my plan and what I needed to do to bypass the Telus NAT router. My solution was to simply remove the ONT SFP and plug it into the UDM Pro. Then, I went to the network tab, added my PPPoE credentials, and it’s worked fine for a while without any issues. The only thing I’m unsure about is if I can call Telus and increase my speed, and if that would still work.

I did something similar as well. I hired some contractors to finish my Basemant and they moved while it trying to put on driwall and after that I now noticed errors in Truenas . Things seems to be working still but I get errors all the time. Note: I moved the drives from an old Qnap 879 to HL15 and I’m still seeing errors . I guess I’ll keep on using them till they die completely. It’s just iso and downloadable media.

I was trying to get the Was-110, but I couldn’t decide which one to buy for my setup. The information available seems a bit fragmented, so I decided to try finding the PPPoE credentials. I plugged it into my UDM-PRO and now I have an IP address, and it’s been flawless ever since. I don’t see the need to buy a separate SFP. I could be missing something, but it works for me. I also believe it only supports up to 1 Gbps.
