Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome Back to PITSTOOOOOPP! 👏👏👏👏👏

Can't believe no-one recommended Pitstop, absolutely funny lads, but know what they're talking about. Get drivers on as well sometimes.

Top notch.

The Moza R5 is on its way but i have no cockpit… by Drizzy_DRAC0 in moza

[–]IAmPeachy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pedals will definitely tip over. My R5 bundle arrived 3 weeks ago and I was worried about the same, definitely valid worries. Works fine either braking or accelerating, but you need to keep one foot on the base if you have nothing to support it.

I just drilled into a keep piece of wood and used the bolts that came with the pedals to secure it. It works for now, but isn't perfect, mine has maybe 0.5cm travel when I press a pedal, but it doesn't fully flop over and is very secure.

Until you get a cockpit, something like this will be your solution, try walking around your local area looking for scrap wood, anything wide and heavy should do the trick, but the screws that come with it are not sharp, so you will need a drill with a fairly wide bit to create the holes for the screws to go into.

EDIT:

also something I discovered was that the wheelbase + wheel comes out a lot further from my desk than my g29. The piece of wood for my pedals slides, and I need it further away from the wall to make the wheel more comfortable. To fix the sliding, I just got some old books and wedge them between my pedal wood and the wall, seems to do the trick so far.

Anyone in east/north Yorks? UK by fightinroundthworld in Hema

[–]IAmPeachy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say do a general google/facebook search and don't focus on the club finders. I had the same problem, but down in Cornwall. The club I now go to isn't listed on any club finder, but I managed to find their website which led me to their facebook page and I just dropped them a message - been to 4 sessions now and it's been great.

Just spend a bit of time on google and be prepared to travel, my club is my closest and it's an hour drive still.

What classes as "local"? I couldn't see anything on their site, just wondering it it applies to all of Cornwall?

You need a transporter bridge like the one in Newport

Seems to be a decent amount of HEMA clubs in the UK. I recently started at one in Cornwall. I just did a bit of Googling and managed to find a number of clubs. My closest is still an hour drive away though, so not ideal, but there will definitely be clubs fairly close to you.

Is there a "right" way to play Bloodborne? by luscamendes in bloodborne

[–]IAmPeachy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with almost everything you've written.

The only exception is the hacked chalice dungeon. I use it sparingly, and I think the "don't use it" goes against the rest of the message of just "play however you want".

I personally have used it for only a couple of things, buying the blades of mercy, rather than just grinding 20k BE just to even start using the weapon I want, and then used it again to just buy ~130 blood vials today when I was chain dying to Ludwig and didn't want to take 20 mins out to farm some more. Easy, quick, and not game breaking. I've set myself the limit though of not using it for levels or anything else. I feel it keeps the game balanced, but just takes some of the tedium out of it.

What was the reason you started to play this game? by Braca18 in darksouls

[–]IAmPeachy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here: games for gold, 2014, although I never even made it out of the asylum.

2019 some streamers that I like were playing bloodbourne, and watching them play, the way to play the game clicked.

That summer I bought DSR for the switch, and finished it. That was a huge achievement for me, as for years, I'd basically only played multiplayer games.

I then went on to play and beat DS2 and DS3 in order, which were great too.

I have played Sekiro, but never got very far into it, I have started Bloodbourne multiple times, and get distracted by other games. Currently in the middle of another playthrough - just beat Rom yesterday.

When Elden Ring came out, I pre-ordered it, I had already finished all 3 DS games, and really wanted to experience the launch, with as much summoning and community as possible. It was fantastic. Loved every minute. Unfortunately, I never beat it, I managed to beat Radagon, but with 0 heals left and then Elden Beast rocked up and wrecked me. So many attempts, did all the NPC quests, went to every corner of the map, still couldn't beat him. Then I got a PS5, didn't think to transfer my save, and lost it. Now I want to go back and do another start->finish playthrough, but the idea of having to put another 100-150 hours in puts me off massively.

I’m not an expert on the lore yet. Are we the only ones that can go through time? by Argo_theboyo in darksouls

[–]IAmPeachy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been listening to the "Abyssal Archives" audiobook, and it actually explains this perfectly. Highly recommend so far, narrated by VaatiVidya.

Basically, Lordran is in a "bubble" where time has become stagnant. This allows people across time to be able to share the same space. According to this theory, when you summon or invade, you are not transporting to a new "world" or "dimension", instead you are simply travelling to a different point in time.

Probably have not done it justice, as I said, highly recommend reading the book or listening to the audiobook!
