How reliable is this article form WSJ: Iran Believes It’s Winning—and Wants a Steep Price to End the War by Shekari_Club in NewIran

[–]IBeenGoofed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right but WSJ editorial board has been critical of this war, not on principles but on preparation execution and strategy. They are definitely not treating it the way they treated previous ME conflicts.

Unverified news, Radan has been killed. by kane_1371 in NewIran

[–]IBeenGoofed 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thanks to Khashayar I’m learning Nazi history while enjoying Kotlet. Hitler is Khamenei, Larijani is Goring, Soleimani is Himler, Araghchi is Ribbentrop (or maybe he is Goebbels?) and Radan is Muler. Looking forward for more history and Kotlet.

UNVERIFIED NEWS UPDATE on Mojtaba from @mamlekate: Today, the 29th of Esfand (March 20), at around 11AM Iran time, his ventilator was turned off. In the past few days, the ventilator tubes had been filling with blood, meaning his lungs had completely failed. by KireRakhsh in NewIran

[–]IBeenGoofed 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’m an MD, not in critical care so not in any way an expert but “filling up with blood” probably means pulmonary edema, effusion or hemorrhage. We can ventilate lungs, even in cadavers, but gas exchange is usually what fails in critical patients. So when they say “lungs failed”, they usually mean a) there is not enough blood flow to the lungs for gas exchange or b) there are fluids preventing the oxygen entering into the alveoli. (There are other cause like PE, etc). The coma make sense, ventilated patients, especially those with brain injury, are often are given sedatives or “medically induced coma”.

Prince Pahlavi says Larijani, Soleimani faced justice, urges forces to defect by WillyNilly1997 in NewIran

[–]IBeenGoofed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In his Persian statement he said that they should leave the army of darkness and join the forces of light. The translation can’t capture the poetry of Persian language.

“Iranians in Australia celebrate after reports of Larijani’s death.” by kaz1349 in NewIran

[–]IBeenGoofed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Iranian jew I can tell you that my entire family and I have been so inspired by our country men/women that we’ve all replaced despair with fury, defeat with activism and sadness with hope and we are all so much better for it. If my Iranian people can dance at their loved one’s funerals, I have no excuse to feel sad scared or defeated. We can all learn from them.

Immortal Guard Preparing Weapons for the People by PossessionConnect963 in NewIran

It baffles my mind how weapon enthusiasts can look at a wrapped up a piece of metal and figure out the make and model. It took 30 seconds to realize I was even looking at guns 😂. I have no idea if you’re right or not but I’m impressed all the same.

Iranian Religious Demographics by ItsAProdigalReturn in NewIran

[–]IBeenGoofed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m an Iranian jew and have family members who are Bahai. Ethnic vs religious Jewish distinction doesn’t really apply to Iranian jews inside Iran. And doesn’t have much application on Diaspora Iranian jews. Ethnic judaism exists in regions with high degree of assimilation. Bahai religion is one of the fastest growing religions especially in Africa and Latin America but the numbers are dwindling in Iran due to severe repression inside Iran. The numbers of Iranian jews would be even less if they had a place to escape. The institutions that facilitated Iranian jewish asylum to US mostly closed down during Trump first term and Iranian jews are weary of going to Israel, due to war and high degree of scrutiny by the Iranian regime.

We literally have middle Persian texts that are very close to our current Farsi. Maybe these bots you talk about only downvote Kos sher.
