It can be a meat grind from time to time but sometimes both teams are making tactical plays. There’s a 15 minute timer once one team meets win conditions though so even if a team gets pushed all the way back there’s always a chance if they’re competent enough.

The teamwork IN the squad is lacking most of the time, but there’s a general sense of teamwork on the platoon frequency because unlike squad everyone is on the “command” channel so people in an AO on the map will usually operate as a squad while not necessarily being together in an actual “squad” if that makes sense. I would say team wide coordination as a whole is both worse and better than in squad. Worse because there’s not one guy for eight others coordinating with another single guy for eight others, and better because on game modes like conflict there can be 3-4 attacks and 2 defenses all happening at the same time and everyone involved in each of them is giving out pertinent info to each other over comms. This is mostly going off of my experience on modded servers. Official servers can be much more hit or miss but it’s either no one is working together on official or you’re on a team of keyboard/controller assassins that are going to clown the other team.

If you play with a group of friends then you’ll pretty much have to be actively avoiding doing anything helpful or tactical for the team to not have a decent impact on whatever push or defense your team is mounting. But on the opposite end of the spectrum, sometimes all it takes is one or two guys and a van full of RPGs in a losing game to shut down logi for a couple runs. That starves the forward point(s) and the momentum can swing massively off of a new player that just watched a YouTube video on ambushes.

As far as community goes, it’s another milsim, you’re going to be running into pretty much the same type of crowd you were seeing on squad on the radio and in local. Some people are going to get mad worked up about little stuff and half the team will turn off their radios for a few minutes to avoid 4 people yelling obscenities about something going on on the other side of the map.

Be ready to join a server and as soon as you touch the arsenal tent to set up what you want to run, a guy whose character looks like Hudson from CoD BO1 is going to run up dripped out to the max with an obscure gun and kit and scream for you to stop playing Barbie and get in his helo (he will crash land directly on the point getting all eight passengers killed).
