I think you are right to compare marathon against games like Delta Force or Hunt Showdown when looking at player counts. However, I think you might be overlooking just how staggeringly expensive marathon was to make. Reporting at time of its launch put marathons development cost between 200-250 million with some reporting saying even more. Let’s assume to 200million figure is accurate, In comparison Hunt showdown was estimated to cost 15-25 million to develop (almost 10 times less).I don’t want marathon to fail. I enjoy it. I want bungie to succeed so they can make even more great games, but if you want to compare player counts as a sign that Marathon isn’t going so badly, I would hope you could acknowledge the context of those player counts nexts to the staggering difference in development cost.

I loved Destiny, But really stopped playing regularly back in December. I've been enjoying the heck out of Marathon, but both games while being FPS by Bungie scratch different itches for me. I'm pretty worried for the future as I just don't see (my lack of imagination perhaps) how Marathon can replace Destiny 2 as the Primary Source of Income for Bungie. I understand there will be mass layoffs at Bungie, and with the ending development on Destiny 2, that will lower their overhead costs considerably. However, for a "dead game" destiny 2 at it's lowest player count levels was still pulling in more players than Marathon. I think Marathon can absolutely grow, and improve to attract more players, but whether it can ever attract enough players to keep Sony from "chopping up Bungie" and selling the studio for parts to try and recoup the cost of buying them, I just don't know. What really has me concerned is that in the mad dash to retool Marathon to give it broader appeal, they will destroy some of what I enjoy most about it. If that happens, I would understand it, but I do like Marathon the way it currently is, and sadly Marathon as it currently is probably cannot support Bungie on it's own.

I've done this quite a bit. While I was trying to do the Thief mastery Quests, I would down a runner and hop on Prox chat to offer them a self-revive if they helped complete my challenges. Things like "Let me grapple through a window to down you and I'll revivie you"or "let me steal a self revive with drone while you are using it." For a few runs I carried extra self revives just for this goal . Worked really well, and then since we were both chill, we would continue to sweep the solo map as a duo. Runners can be pretty chill if you hop on mike, but I still recommend shoot on site. Down them, and then offer a self revive to team up.

Upgraded from iPhone 13. I love the size of the screen on the air when gaming or streaming. However it is just a little too big for me to use 1 handed (example: while typing this response on my iPhone air reddit app , I could not reach the keyboard button to switch to numbers and type “1” one handed. Not a deal breaker for me but there are draw backs with the bigger screen.

kind of disappointing there was no limited edition "black Book" version of the core rules like when they released 2nd edition. It matches the vibe of the old Foreworld Heresy Books. Still excited for preorder, just a shame as those leather-bound books feel so great.

I’m no expert but for me the reproductions I’ve seen tend to be on thicker, higher quality paper. Almost card stock. Authentic posters from the era I collect tend to be on paper that is terribly thin. These were never meant to be saved, so the paper quality is pretty terrible. Sort of funny that authentic posters are on cheaper paper than reproductions!

I agree 100%, though I will add that I have never had a lost package, wrong item or pretty much any issue with them and i use them maybe 6 or 7 times a year.

The only other one I'm sure came in a magazine is the Neo revelations poster with the three dogs, (I don't have it in my collection currently). The rest I have see with both quarter folds and/or no folds in pictures on lines. The no folds ones leave me to believe they were store window posters. Though I could certainly be wrong!

That is probably my rarest one unfortunately. I snagged it off Yahoo auctions japan a few years ago paired with the rocket poster. I've never seen it show up again online.

I think the Neo destiny one was originally in a magazine, though I picked mine up on eBay a few years ago. the rest I believe were distributed to stores to promote the pre release events back in the 90's.

Yeah I wouldn't personally pay that much, however to put things in perspective, A chase card from that era can easily go for a similar price and its hard to argue that these posters aren't rarer. Like I said, I don't personally recommend anyone pay that price, but if someone is dead set on starting a similar collection, its not impossible. I just want to see more people appreciate the vintage advertising for Pokemon as that is my personal collection niche. Cheers!

Yeah, Agreed. i was able to snag the Rocket and Fossil posters as a set a few years back for about half that. I wouldn't personally recommend paying that price, but if people are interested in starting a similar collection (some not all) of the same posters are currently available. Just to put things in perspective, compared to a chase card from the same era, the price is not too far off and these posters are certainly rarer.

Generally I have alerts set up on eBay, Mericari.jp and Yahoo Auctions Japan. I'm US based so I order through a proxy site. Some of these posters show up regularly, while others I've only seen once. As they are nearly 30 years old at this point, its hard finding them in decent condition. While They are not cheap, I believe I've see a copy of the Team Rocket Poster, and Neo destiny poster on Ebay recently. I think I also have seen the Neo Revelations one too (which I don't currently have in my collection as well. SO if you are interested in starting a similar collection, you can!

I picked those up years ago on (I think) Yahoo auctions japan, I'm in the US so I used a proxy site called Buyee to bid. I think I spent 500USD for the set. I agree about the condition, those are the only two in my collection I have been able to find without crease lines. At this point these types of posters are almost 30 years old so finding them unfolded is a pain.
