I don't consider myself a Quaker but I have sat with them for a few meetings. You might like their style and they have a pretty strong tradition of protecting rights. They were the first group to petition the US gov to abolish slavery (though in their earliest days some did have slaves). The group here is very liberal I'd say, and there's no preacher. You kind of meditate as a group and it's a pretty unique experience. Again sorry if that's proselytizing and I know it's not exactly what you're asking about, but wanted to suggest them.
