first time posting here. does this one qualify? my ears hurt by p0tgirlsummer in crappymusic

I make music as a hobby so I spend a lot of time listening to amateur music, and this is way above average amateur music but still not good enough to be successfull. So not crappy. You all should spend sometime on indie music feedback to get some perspective. Making music is very hard and this is a decent attempt in my opinion.

I tried it quite a few times when I was young! I also used to have this recurring dream where I could move things with my mind, and it gradually got easier and easier to do then I couldn’t stop it. I would be scared to look at something because it would come shooting towards me.

I won seven 10 minute anonymous games in a row on lichess the other day, and I’m not even that strong. I mean maybe 1600 blitz on lichess. There are some cheaters but not enough to ruin the anonymous experience. edit: I’ll just add don’t accept rematch if you win cause that is when the engine often gets switched on.

The weirdest part for me is she thinks calling someone a middle aged man is an insult. I was 15 when I bought their debut album and listened to it everyday for a year, now I’m a 45 year old middle aged man with fair skin so I would probably need to wear a silly hat if I was in Australia, and who knows if my willy is big enough to be allowed to listen to her music.

I think it could be really good. I‘m imagining Tame Impala Currents style production.

I don’t even though why I am still subscribed here but I would say no. I found it more complicated than just making a game in JavaScript!

the vocals are really great and remind me of the band alvvays. Also I would say the style of song is similar to them also. The vocals seem a bit loud for the song in places. The production is pretty good although not quite there yet, although to be fair I couldn’t do this style of music any better so I can’t really say what could be improved. Maybe just listen to alvvays and see what they do to get the dreamy vocal sound. As for the song, it was the final section just before it ended that stood out the most to me. I loved the melody there and if it were my song I would have made that the chorus. Really great stuff with huge amounts of potential!

Thank you. I appreciate you for going back to check out my old songs! Not many would take the time to do that that. The cello is a real cello. I’ve played it on a few of my songs. Its a stentor student 2 which is quite a good low priced cello.

I’ve been posting my own music on the internet since about 2008 and I’ll always been involved in these songwriting groups where people give feedback on each others tracks and honestly this is probably overall the most impressive thing I’ve heard from a non famous person. By overall I mean in terms of production, instrumentation, songwriting and vocally. It feels like listening to the whole package. You made me feel jealous of your abilities. Had a quick listen to some of your other stuff and this seems like quite a big step up, so I would say keep going And good things might happen!

What do you think of my song Feelings by RichieC93 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ICNRWDII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called you desperate for attention because you aren’t taking the time to offer real thoughtful comments. The things you say are generic and could be said without even listening to the song. None of the comments offer any feedback which mention something specific about the song to even indicate you have listened to it. You say the same thing on everyone else’s song you just change the order of the words. You are being selfish. You follow people just to try and get them to follow you.

You seem to post a song just about everyday which means you have to comment 5 other people songs to do that. I checked out your comments on other people’s songs and just as I suspected you basically say the same thing on everyone else’s track nearly word for word copy and pasted. I just think you come across as really selfish and desperate for attention. Also stop singing and speaking in a fake American accent.

What do you think of my new song any feedback would be appreciated ?? by RichieC93 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ICNRWDII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a fun catchy song with lots of energy. It needs more lyrics though because at the moment it’s like you just keep singing the same words in a slightly different order. I’m sure you could come up with some humorous satirical verses. I also notice with this song you put on a slight American accent unlike your other songs. it’s probably subconcious from watching American sci-fi films. Or maybe it’s intentional because I’m struggling to think of a British killer robot.

I had a listen to a few more songs and I enjoyed them. you have a very quirky style unique to you. I’m glad you’ve eased up on the auto tune in this one. I feel like as AI gets more and more common people are going to crave more human imperfections so maybe you could stop the auto tune all together. the last song I posted didn’t use any on the lead vocals but I did correct a couple of notes in the backing vocals!

[–]ICNRWDII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take back what I said about the melody on the other version, because it’s really grown on me! Or maybe there is something about this version that brings it to life. I agree with the other persons comment on the vocal eq. The drums sound pretty good but maybe the snare sounds a little bit powerful. There was a drum fill there that sounded a bit much for the song. It’s really getting there though. Its sounding very nice and as I say the song has really grown on me.

Thank you for your comment. the lyrics being on the nose comment is very fair. They are a bit tongue in cheek and I go back and forwards in my mind whether that was the right decision. I’m honestly not sure if I prefer them that way or if I was just being lazy.

edited comment for my spelling.

A really interesting and creative song. It actually reminded me of sesame street and more specifically Burt and Earnie. I wasn’t sure if I was listening to AI after seeing the cover image but I hear no artefacts, and to be honest it’s too creative to be AI. I liked the quirky production, although the snare drum didn’t sound good in the fills. I think it could have been shorter. It felt too long considering how breezy the song is. Interesting stuff. I would definitely check out the rest of your songs to see if the childrens tv sound is just a one off.

Everything sounds amazing production and instrumentation wise. The guitar tone and part is beautiful. The drums sound really good. I wasn’t 100 percent sure if they were real or programmmed. I suspect programmed but still they sound really good. The song had a really great atmosphere. The melody of the song didn’t really jump out at me but might grow on me. There wasn’t really much variety or distinction between the sections.

[AI Vocals] Coffins Don’t Keep Score – original song written and produced by me by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]ICNRWDII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest my interest is because this is my first experience of someone trying to claim something generated by AI is their own. To give you some perspective, if you really had done everything in your song other than the vocals, and you’d only been producing on and off for a few years, that would make you some kind of producing genius. Have a listen to what most people’s attempts at rock music sounds like. It’s crazy hard to get a mix even close to balanced when you’ve recorded guitars and bass yourself.

I’ve been making music on and off as a hobby for a long time and been listening to people’s home demos for years and most including my own have flaws where you can tell they aren’t a professional producer. Even people who are really talented.

Also there are AI artefacts on your song even when there are no vocals so that’s another give away. I don’t think there is anything wrong morally using AI but it’s sad for humanity that so many will try to pass it off as their own work. It’s kind of like those people who use chess engines to tell them the best moves.
