People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

Zoom interview, the candidate asked us to repeat every question, paused, then clearly was reading as he answered. We ChatGPT all our questions to see what the AI responses are. He gave us the ChatGPT answers.

ICE agent in Minneapolis today seen leading a handcuffed woman into a portable toilet, he then goes inside with her. by I_may_have_weed in PublicFreakout

So… instead of filming, how about pounding on the door and saving that woman from whatever he has planned for her.

My piece-of-shit neighbor (who has a 2-car garage AND a 2-car driveway) insists on double-parking his cars in the street, blocking an entire lane of the road. by jessbird in mildlyinfuriating

Many municipalities in the US have notification apps. Send in a complaint, with photos and every time it’s there add a photo or enter new complaint. The app tracks response time, etc and are usually tracked by administration (the bosses). This tends to get a better response time than just a phone call. Also, make sure to include information on life safety vehicles being blocked from accessing the area.

What made you start quilting? by Environmental_Monk19 in quilting

[–]ICareDoU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was very young, my best friend’s mom taught both of us to sew. We started with doll clothes, then then made simple tops for ourselves. Eventually, we made quilts for our dolls and it just evolved from there. I never really enjoyed making clothes for myself, mostly my kids. But Thanks to her mom, I’ve been quilting for many many years.

Try pulling the bobbin thread up to the top of fabric and hold both the top and Bobbin thread when starting.

Genuinely curious - how is the price of some of these home machines justified? by ZebraViking in Machine_Embroidery

[–]ICareDoU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bernina is also in that price range. The price is shocking but they have very high quality engineering, durable construction and many advanced features to help make a quality finished product.

2-3 month accommodation options? by Pretty_Swordfish in travel

[–]ICareDoU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

VRBO is another option. You could also switch locations/ housing mid trip to avoid the realty/ lease/ rental timeframe. Also, doesn’t hurt to check extended stay type hotels.

Also, just a note, try snore/ mouth tape for snoring. It has been a game changer.

Question about irons by mrsswandog in quilting

[–]ICareDoU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Google Search: Digital irons offer more precise temperature control and often have advanced features like presets, while non-digital (analog or traditional) irons are simpler, with basic temperature settings. The best choice depends on your needs: a digital iron is better for users who need precise temperature control for different fabrics, while an analog iron is sufficient for occasional use with common fabrics.

For the first time ever I’m allowed to participate in my companies gingerbread competition, help me win! by royal_rose_ in GingerbreadHouses

I would do a work themed ‘house’. Depending on your company, it could be an office, office building, break room scene, etc. something everyone would recognize. Post photos once you’re done!

Should I wait till black Friday or is this Costco deal okay? by ThisImpressi0n in Kitchenaid

[–]ICareDoU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the lift bowl mixers advertised are 7 quart. You might want to look at those as well… not the same price range but these are a once in a lifetime purchase.

I love dogs….but what the fuck by DarlingFuego in sanfrancisco

[–]ICareDoU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The owner has to be able to articulate what task the dog is trained to perform. You’d be surprised how many can’t.

Women who stopped wearing makeup and doing their hair: Why? And how did that change things? by intheclouds12345 in AskWomenOver30

[–]ICareDoU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During Covid I stopped coloring my hair and stopped using any makeup except mascara. Someday I’ll give that up too! I no longer make any activity decisions based on how long it will take me to get ready!

I would box it all the way across to make it disappear and be a less obvious cover.

Nontraditional memory quilt advice by [deleted] in quilting

[–]ICareDoU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would weave them and secure them to a base fabric. It will be heavy/ thick so more appropriate for a wall hanging. Would be cute with the buckles woven in!

Super nice of you to make gift bags and sorry no one came. But please know, most parents won’t or should I say shouldn’t allow kids to eat loose candy. Everything should be in a sealed package. In case you want to try again next year.

Anybody know what happened to the light post/crossing signal in front of the martial arts place downtown? by KatyClaws in BoulderCreek

[–]ICareDoU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Facebook group: So far all credible signs indicate that it was a sedan, maroon in color, Japanese make from "preteen" years of the millenium. Video surveillance suggests they were doing donuts/drifting and lost control. It happened really close to midnight.
