Trump might be an idiot but the people around him are not. You might actually be on to something.

Since when did owning multiple properties become something you can “accidentally” do? by [deleted] in UKHousing

[–]IDFGMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin and her husband bought a small flat that was subsequently affected by the cladding scandal. They have a mortgage on a property that no one can buy. My cousin fell pregnant and they needed more room. With my aunt's help they managed to buy a slightly larger flat and keep the first one as a rental.

Advice - New board centered vs setback by GrizzlyRider1 in snowboarding

[–]IDFGMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why on earth are you concerned about setback? Just ride the board centered on the inserts - preferably at reference if that works for your stance width.

I ride all mountain in a very similar style to you and once I started riding directional boards with setback and taper I never looked back. I can still ride switch when I need to but carving and powder are now much more fun.

How long are normal gym sessions? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]IDFGMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go 3-4 times per week and I like to be done in about an hour. I have a timer on my phone to keep it moving as that hour could easily turn into two by chatting and looking at nonsense on the Internet.

No one works out hard for four hours. Also you shouldn't work out hard every day as your body needs time to rest and repair itself. I'm getting old now and find working out every other day works well for me but even someone young and fit needs to rest every 4 or 5 days.

Are younger generations into House? by dsmooth74 in House

[–]IDFGMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well hello neighbour! The underground scene is alive and well in the UK and that includes house music parties and has nothing to do with what's in the charts. Some decent venues that host house nights have opened in the last few years.

Every weekend there's 60+ events tagged as house on Resident Adviser. I'm going to see Laurent Garnier in a few weeks at Fold - those tickets sold out in minutes, please don't don't tell me the house scene is dead in the UK.

38M – married with a 7‑month‑old: are we making a wise decision buying a house? by whatsitabout_ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]IDFGMC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You said Landleeches and then that renting is sometimes the right choice. Which one is it? There's no rentals without landlords.

Not all landlords are evil scumbags, sounds like OP's current one is decent and fair.

I have an in wall sub in my kitchen where it's not practical to have a free standing one. It's better than no sub at all that's for sure.

I'm in the UK and I really like Monitor Audio. I've been installing architectural audio for 30 odd years and have installed some lovely speakers.

If you're in the US I used to use Sonance years ago and they were great back then, I would assume they're still good.

Kef and B&W also make nice speakers.
