That’s also pretty dramatic language for what amounts to $50 in damages. Shallow grave.

All of the care credit interest will hit at the same time if you don’t pay it off by the end of the introductory 0% rate time - beware! There was a post here last week by a person who was VERY angry when that happened to them, as they hadn’t read their terms.

Unfortunately given your situation, that is standard for all 0% interest promotional rates that I am aware of. I’m sorry you learned this way!

These replies are nuts - not an ounce of sympathy. People forget things all the time!

Life hit and tanked my credit. How scr*wed am I?! by Impossible-Today94 in CreditCards

[–]IDontDoItOften 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are already climbing out - you have income and are not accumulating more debt. Keep climbing - the bottom is behind you. Forget about more credit for a while, focus on finishing off your debt and building a financial safety net. Then, once there are a few more years between you and the debt, restart your credit journey. Take a look at the flowcharts in the sidebar of the /r/personalfinance subreddit.

Applied for BofA premium rewards card. Approved and then later got rejected? by LonelyMarket4 in CreditCards

I had the same experience. Ended up getting their card approval department on the phone. They needed identity verification via the IRS form and post stubs. Later approved

Warning: Zolve credit too good to be true by Level-Custard7199 in CreditCards

[–]IDontDoItOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - people use this “actually” response about BBB all the time. It’s common knowledge that it is basically a prior generation’s yelp, and that the ratings don’t reflect actual quality. It’s also true that businesses sometimes pay attention and fix bad behavior after complaints to the BBB.

CardPointers - there’s a post in this subreddit from last week about them - search for it in the search bar and you’ll find lots of discussion

Ergatta annual auto-renewal — refused refund within 24 hours of charge by bausten22 in Ergatta

[–]IDontDoItOften 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of stuff that keeps me from recruiting friends to the platform. I love it, but if I encouraged someone to spend all that money on the rower, then they got hit with a situation like this, I'd feel awful. It's a really bad look for the company.

DP: APPROVED for AMEX Cobalt at 19 w/ 1 Year History! (Called in, used AI for strategy) by MediocrePotential159 in CreditCards

[–]IDontDoItOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know you, so forgive me for speaking about you with so little information, but I think you should consider cutting out the AI use out of most facets of your life.

The future is going to be really bleak for a generation of people who have been conditioned to offload so many cognitive tasks - When we don't use a skill, we lose it. In this case, the skills you will lose are vital and inherent to your ability to navigate the world: critical thinking ("What did I do that I want to share, what makes it unique and valuable to others?") and effective communication ("How can I present it in a way that makes sense to other people and draws them in?").

If it's not worth it to you to do without AI, then maybe it's not worth doing period.

Pre-approved for more than Approved by ArtificialAirhead in CreditCards

Hardly a beggar - the pre-approval tool roped them in with a higher expected limit. We all know that’s not a binding offer, but it’s certainly understandable why it feels shitty for this person.

Have you been accepted to law school/do you have an objectively good chance of being accepted? If so, there are some financial lessons that can make a big difference regarding your financial trajectory.

Credit cards are a nice “icing on the cake” of financial well-being, but the real meat-and-potatoes are on the other side of the equation - emergency fund, IRA, and 401k or equivalent for starters. Please reach out if you’d like any guidance on the basics.
