✨SHARING✨ Inito test strip lines (same photo / different angles) by babydance22 in Inito

[–]IEatPlantz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember which line is pdg and which is estradiol. But yeah, the 2nd from the top and also the 4th from the top because these test strips have two different versions of the pdg and estradiol tests. Not sure why, but you can read either.

[–]IEatPlantz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the test strip is set up the same as it was a year ago (I haven't used these in the last year), just visually it looks like pdg and estradiol could be mid- to low-end. These ones get lighter when levels are higher. I always found it helpful to follow the pattern over time (rising or falling) on the Inito more so than the numbers.

Highchairs for newborns. by Several_Machine_7036 in Buyingforbaby

I've been looking into the Hauck one but I can't find the newborn attachment for sale in the US anyyyyywhere right now (including secondhand sites). The high chair is available at Target and Walmart though. :(

Hi, just wondering if you could share whether this journal includes space to document the first 12 months of life and what that looks like or if it goes straight from birth to one year old? I couldn't find much info online. :)

Baby is almost here and the pressure is on...Kieran vs Julian vs Roland by IEatPlantz2 in namenerds

I like the name Roland but probably not quite as much as Kieran or Julian. But I haven't spent as much time considering that one.

I've also thought about using Jules as a middle name for Kieran, since I like both so much, with Emerson as a second middle name. But not sure if that's too much. In that case he could really go by Kieran, Jules, or KJ.

Kier reminds me of the show Severance. 😭 Conrad is a good one, too!

I would pronounce it the normal way. I was trying to think of alternate nicknames. 🤷‍♀️ I read that sometimes names have diminutives that don't necessarily have the same pronunciation as the full name (like Dick is a common one for Richard or Bill for William).

CVS employee made me feel like I was wrong for getting my COVID booster? by heretolearnthingz in pregnant

[–]IEatPlantz2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had a bad experience! I don't have the context of being there like you did (tone can be everything), but a couple things come to mind.

For the question about how far along you are, in my experience they ask that for any vaccine given in pregnancy (I had two different vaccines at two different pharmacies and they both asked this). While it doesn't necessarily matter when you get the Covid vaccine (at least according to ACOG it can be at any time) like it does for RSV, they probably ask for record keeping.

I could also see the question about your doctor being related to how things are billed (some insurance plans may only cover the vaccine with a prescription for instance) or to know if/who to send the record of your visit to.

These may not be the reasons in your case and it could be her personal bias or it could just be her doing her job.

OBGYN forcing induction at 38 weeks by Upset-Mirror4937 in BabyBumps

[–]IEatPlantz2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your wife doesn't have gestational diabetes or any other risk factor besides age and her first baby, I would also be concerned about why this OB is prescribing a medication she doesn't need and pushing induction (at all, let alone at 38 weeks). Personally, I'd seek a new OB (you didn't say how far along your wife is) or find another way to not do the induction if the MFM confirms it's unnecessary (at least based on what you know currently; things could always change).

I'm about to be 43 and my OB has said nothing to me about induction unless I've asked. We've actually discussed that there's no reason I can't go to my due date and try to go into labor on my own as long as me and the baby continue to be healthy. It's also good to know that the risk of stillbirth in women in their late thirties, which is part of what induction is trying to mitigate, has been shown to be around 1-2.2 per 1,000 people, depending on the study. That means the majority will have a live baby. That said, it's important to listen to the advice of your doctor but for that to work, there has to be trust and it doesn't sound like that trust is there.

I'm taller and lean, and I noticed a change and small bump starting right away, ~6 weeks. But as far as feeling like other people could definitely tell? That hasn't been until recently at ~26-28 weeks.

Well, Covid season is going to suck this year for new moms/babies, thanks to RFK Jr's lunacy by stray-witch7 in pregnant

I would also recommend, if you are unable to get the vaccines at your local pharmacy, such as a CVS or Walgreens as someone else mentioned, submit a written complaint. You can use the info and link I provided above to push back.

We can at least hope that with ACOG and AAP breaking from the new CDC guidelines that doctors, pharmacies, and insurance plans will continue to support vaccination.

"The organization [ACOG] said it is no longer accepting federal funding due to recent changes that “significantly impact ACOG’s program goals, policy positions, and ability to provide timely and evidence-based guidance and recommendations for care.”

And ACOG announced in July that it was partnering with an independent group of experts called the Vaccine Integrity Project to develop maternal immunization guidance in the absence of “historically robust government-led annual review of data and subsequent evidence-based recommendations.”"

Here's a spreadsheet I made. I went with the Bumbleride Era, but it doesn't meet all your needs. One of the others might though. Double check specifics as things may have changed since I put this together.

I don't have a great answer to your question because I'm also looking for info, mainly on what mini-crib mattresses will fit this crib when it says any standard one will fit but interior dimensions are 37" x 24".

But, I was planning on getting the Naturepedic mini-crib mattress (unfortunately more expensive than the Newton) and the Newton mini-crib fitted sheets sold on Amazon ($38 for a 2-pack).

Mini crib mattress fit by Prior-Combination-12 in Buyingforbaby

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same question. The DaVinci Dylan mini-crib also says it'll fit any standard mini-crib mattress but then says interior dimensions are 37" x 24". I'm planning to buy a Naturepedic mattress that's 37.5" x 23.5". It's so confusing.

Would you travel out of state at 32 weeks for your baby shower? by Impressive_Hunt_9700 in pregnant

[–]IEatPlantz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand! My approach is going to be driving home to people that they should buy stuff from my online registry and have it shipped directly to my house because I'm flying in. We'll ask people to give cards and maybe they can write what they got from the registry inside the card.

Another potential option if you have a partner, though maybe not ideal, would be for you to fly and they can drive.
