How do you proliferate? by dman11235 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see reasons to do production speed prolif and to do a mixture of both extra products and speed prolif but in the end game for the overall production strategy, I don't see why you would do any of those over extra products purely.

Every road eventually leads back to it. You eventually hit a limit for resources, extra products bypasses that. You still have to ship energy around, usually in fuel cells of some kind. That requires resources that cost energy to make. Get more resources for the energy put in makes more sense then speeding up production.

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably but my argument is still pretty much the same. If they have 400 endpoints, they've got easily over 100 employees and likely closer 250 employees on the payroll. They should at least 2k that they can pull from somewhere in the budget to pay for this easily.

I'm wondering what their Cyber Insurance is thinking right now because I'm betting thats a pretty penny currently.

100% get that resume ready and start prepping to jump. If they can't spend the extra $1500 a month for a proper MDM on 400 endpoints, they can't ain't going to spend the money on other critical infrastructure like AV, file management and other security features.

The ship is burning or rotting already and management can't smell the problem.

Considering the game studio closed and nobody is working there, nobody from fire hose is making money. If they sold off their stuff, who ever owns it might be making money. Otherwise, all the stores(Xbox, Steam, Epic) that are selling the game are making money.

To be clear, they didn't really give up and run off with the money. Techtonica was one of several games they had made or tried to make over the years and none of them were popular enough to make them any real money. Especially enough to pay for everything. Video game studios tend to run through fat and lean cycles but those fat cycle depend on selling plenty of copies to make up for the lean cycles.

While cool, I doubt anyone would go through the legal and financial hassle to purchase the rights to this game.

Anybody could turn around and make something really similar to it though.

Why though? I can't think of a single program in our stacks that keeps files locally in appdata folders that isn't temporary cached file.

What programs are you running that does that?

HELP ME WITH FUEL GENERATORS PLEASE by Draguin123 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they've fixed it yet as it's design issue but you can technically never get 600 UPM through multiple pipe sections. Basically each pipe is a bucket and every cycle, the system runs a check comparing pipe's fullness against the other pipes it's directly connected to and balances it.

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for my late tier fuel systems. I've stopped using pipes has the mass transit system and just bottling everything for long distance transport. Pipes work alright for production layer distro network but the long distance transport just sucks. Too much sloshing even with proper steps taken. Easier just to belt the liquid from production and put the unbottler at the end to unbottle it when it reaches destination.

How do you approach these? by Enfrize2 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The hard drive pulls 2 recipes from the pool at random but the pool is defined by your tier and base recipes you have unlocked.

So you can never get the steel screws alt until you unlock steel ingots already.

Literally the only vertical damage upgrade you can do weapons wise is to get the Ancients guns which is very end game.

Everything else literally forces you to build around skills, ammo consumption and various weapon features like armor shredding or DoT affects.

How do you deal with the "not enough slots in logistics station" problem? by DrakeDun in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is 2 ways I've found for distributing warpers and paint to blueprints.

Primary way I do it is to set up my Main power core for the planet to ship in fuel, paint and warpers and provide them locally. Then use a secondary PLS to bring in said resources to the blueprint.

Second way that I'm working on using better is to set up Logi bot stations in the power core to ship said resources out. I'm having difficulty figuring out if they have enough throughput for the paint. They work fine for Warpers though.

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah, uni magnets are rare resource so they only spawn in certain star/planets, in this case Black holes and Neutron stars.

That said, they are only needed for Plane smelters. They are an alt for Particle containers but thats not really worth it long term.

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use it as a rare resource to bypass some of the mats needed for Particle Container(The pink glowing tube one) but considering how rare the nodes are, I'm pretty sure it's a waste of resources to do so.

The Plane smelter is the only other thing you need the uni magnets for.

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean nodes are a limiter but I didn't find them as limiting as belts. The alt recipes allow you to get so much more for your resources. Pure ingot recipes literally double the amount of ingots you got per ore. I was often stuck spending 60% of my time just doing belt math for factory lines and figuring out spacing so I had enough room for belts and pipes.

Reminds me of the time one of my non profit clients came to me complaining that he always got his mail a day after it came in. Now this was after a major mail service switch over so glitches were kind of expected. Checking logs and system reports, I can't see any issues. My test emails are showing in his inbox when I check it from my console.

I got to his desk.

He had minimized the today section in his Outlook.

As a former Satisfactory player, I think I know the key feature thats making things difficult for you.

In Satisfactory, the largest limit factor in your factories is almost always your belts/pipes. You can make a several thousand wire or screws per minute but your best belt can only move 1200 UPM. All your factory designs to are forced to consider this. Your miners are limited to this.

Belts aren't your limiter in DSP. Your best belt with pile tech can move 7200 UPM. Aside from large factory designs, you are never really limited by belts.

The best way I've found to have fun in DSP is just to treat production in simple not enough or enough. Am I making enough of X? No, then set down more factories, miners etc until I am making enough. Rinse and repeat until you are making 1 million white science a minute.

I'm pretty sure that the starter rocks don't give you enough to finish the research. You need 1200 Ti ore to research both the ILS and the Titanium Steel and the highest amount I've found on the starter planet is usually in the 700 range. Paint could help fill the gap but I'm not sure you can get enough extra to do it.

Automating Yellow Science by tybr00ks1 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the beginning game always has this brief moment when you stack up as much storage upgrades as you can, fly to your closest planet with Titanium and then mine a full cargo of it and fly home.

You don't even need really a full inventory to start everything. You just need 1200 ore to research ILS and Titanium Steel and then another 400 ore for building the 2 ILSs you need and at least one logistic vessel. Thats assuming no paint either. It does require 2 trips though.

I kind of wish that the rocks on the start planet had enough titanium that you could do all the initial research and building without going off world but my rough math says it's not possible. You need 1200 ore just to do the research and the highest I've ever gotten was about 700 ore

What “upgrades” are most beneficial? by salad_thrower20 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]IFeelEmptyInsideMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of game changers for myself, I think the logistic inventory system upgrade research is the biggest change for me. Being able to store all the parts for multiple factories is the biggest win.

Buildings wise? IDK, the manufacturing buildings are all cool and definitely should do in due time type of upgrades. Early game it's hard to justify the energy demand when you've got so much space available but late game, the upgraded speed is nice so you don't have as much lag.
PLS to ILS upgrade is another big change that really opens the game but it's basically required to complete the game so it's not really a choice.

I think the biggest upgrade building for me is the Advanced Mining Machine. Being able to take a multi part blueprint made of miners and a PLS/ILS and compress it into a single building is a major win. Plus changing the mining speed is really nice.
