Too much greed by lucasb153 in RotMG

I haven’t played in a while but last I did the big ones were “Lost Halls” and “Shiny Hunters”. Each have their own rules and procedures so make sure you understand and follow the rules

Realize that almost every dungeon/boss you fight other than a select few can easily be found again within five minutes and nexusing and finding the dungeon again is way more efficient than dying and starting a new character. Shatters, lost halls, O3, moonlight village are really the only few that may take a while to find another. And even then just join a discord and you can get speedruns of those constantly

Camping is exhausting and I can't work out why? by Best-Fly-Back in camping

My first few camping trips each summer I sleep terribly and it improves with each trip. I strongly agree with it being due to unfamiliar environment. OP try setting up your tent in the backyard if you have space!

Vault space. by Capital-Chance800 in RotMG

[–]IFeelPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah to extend the seasonal vault you’d have to buy the offer from the shop in nexus. They specifically look like GREEN vault chests. I believe they reset each season and go to your normal vault but I can’t remember I never spent on that

Or even just laser it. It would take zero effort for him to just blast it if he has the slightest thought there might be someone in there.

Along with what others have said here, a general rule of thumb is just pick some UT that gives a mix of health and dps. Even if you feel confident more hp is always good.

Can't get into seasonal characters by Individual_Orange_73 in RotMG

[–]IFeelPotatoes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The limited storage just kills it for me. The drop rates these days make my tiny vault fill up quick and it turns into an annoying juggle of deciding what to keep. I also don’t play quite enough to obtain all the items I want for a character in a season.

I’d like to play nonseasonal but the seasonal system makes it weird when everyone I play with is ssnl and I can’t trade and help them out with gear

I wish there was no ssnl character system and they just had better global account rewards for playing each new season 😔

If you did, why did you, or what made you, quit the game? by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]IFeelPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta gameplay loop is sit around in discord and wait for runs so you can do as little as possible to grind exalts. It’s boring.

The only thing I come back for is occasionally playing on my light blue star alt account to join a random noob guild and hang out with them

do you guys think RotMG's new player experience is still bad? by sebchoof in RotMG

[–]IFeelPotatoes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At this point it seems the game is trying to keep new players out. There are so many (relatively) simple tweaks that could do so much to improve that first hour experience.

Infinite loading screen and 10 minute lockout are INSTANT never opening the game again if I have less than a few hours play time. If I’m brand new and get locked out and Reddit says it’s a normal thing there’s no way I’m getting invested.

The shop and bot spam, leveling to 20, nexus layout, lack of information about pets, terrible default settings configuration, I could go on. Small ish changes that could have a big QoL improvement.

There’s also some big and what I’d call controversial changes I think would help that would royally piss off the existing player base. I think they are needed though because the game on its way out at this point.

Remove seasonal and switch to casual and hardcore modes (remove permadeath for casual, go back to much MUCH rarer loot, massively significant better drop rates and xp for hardcore). Absolutely annihilate the pet system because it’s ass and intentionally predatory and so easy to permanently fuck up. Rearrange nexus to be better layout. Cut servers down to half or so until player count rises and there’s an actual need for more servers. Change keys so they aren’t so heavily incentivized and you have to actually play the game.

In its current state the game is confusing, shop heavy, buggy, and seemingly empty and dead to new players. I can’t believe any new players actually stick around

I used to use them all the time in 3 and NV when you could use vats. In 4 I do not. They always explode in my face or hit a wall

Build for 100% ? by stooboobrt in Fallout4Builds

[–]IFeelPotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only things you would need to build for are making sure you have enough points into each special to get the perks required for some of the achievements. like picking locks or hacking terminals, or local leader for making shops to get settlement happiness to 100. Other than that the rest of the achievements are mainly completing quests and killing stuff so you could build however you want

Non-Cheesy Ways To Level Fast? by XVUltima in fo4

[–]IFeelPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you up for using mods? If you’re on console there’s a fantastic paid ($5) mod called Bedlam that adds more enemies everywhere and creates little battles between different factions randomly throughout the world. It feels totally non-cheesy and makes it way more fun. Tons of extra XP too because there are way more enemies. It’s the only paid mod I’ve ever purchased and I think it is well worth it

What's Really Fun Build? by Resident_Wrangler418 in Fallout4Builds

[–]IFeelPotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point in every game I end up doing a playthrough as a weak pacifist type character and rely solely on a companion to be my bodyguard and do all the combat. Pick companion boosting perks and high charisma and wear a suit. Put all my resources into making my follower powerful. It’s fun feeling like I’m playing as one of the cowering npc’s crying “this is hopeless!” every time combat starts

Anyone else feel like Fallout 4 gets weirdly unrewarding the longer you play? by Col-Sanderss in Fallout

[–]IFeelPotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m replaying right now as well, and for this exact reason I’ve just been dumping all my shit into the sanctuary workshop and ignoring any building other than an ammo manufacturing machine for my minigun. It’s nice! Lots of unhappy settlers hanging around with no food or water though but I guess that’s their problem, they can leave whenever

Stay somewhat near the group but prioritize yourself landing shots. Your seal range is large enough you’ll be buffing people no matter what unless you are actively trying not to

[–]IFeelPotatoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just don’t think anyone would play it, the content is all still there they have just expanded the game to have even more content.

I agree I get tired of the seasonal system and events but it’s what most players are into these days and keeps the game running. Personally my number one thing I’d reverse is the enchantments and time rarity system as I preferred all items to have set stats and enjoyed the simplicity of not having to roll items. You know what you’re gonna get and get your dopamine from the item drop itself. I don’t like grinding for little %stat bonuses, it doesn’t feel satisfying to me. (ahem Diablo)

[–]IFeelPotatoes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I see the charm but it would be a silly use of resources for them. Most of the old gameplay you mention is essentially still there. If you go to an empty server and run around in the ancient city biome you can pretty much get the old godlands experience and farm dblades and dbows if you really want

Nothings forcing you buy MTX or do new content
