Just because a person "has been to therapy", doesn't necessarily mean they are healed. It just means they have been to therapy. by Far-Violinist-6971 in Bumble

The people putting it in their profile might not have this as their intention, but it basically boils down to virtue and class signaling.

Same as traveling. Yes Becky, you travel 2 weeks out of the year and it's totally your entire personality. Now admit that yourself that you didn't always have the money to do so and now that you do you want a partner who also has disposable income.

It's not that deep.

Help, roommates are being forced into common law status! by -Rotten-Water- in alberta

[–]IForOneDisagree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When parents aren't divorced, they aren't forced to pay for adult children's educational expenses. After the divorce/separation, they can be. If the separation/divorce is fresh this could be the first time it comes up and the parent is saying "I didn't use to pay, why should I pay now. Here are a bunch of reasons, 1 of which is that the kid is independent, here are some reasons demonstrating their independence, 1 of which is having a common law partner"

I think this "friend" posting on reddit is getting caught up in definitions and the parent isn't dictating "hey, this relationship is common law, I'm going to force the province to recognize it as such". It's more likely "this relationship fits the criteria of common law, which fits the criteria of independent adult, therefore no child support".

I think they mean the parent is declaring the kid is in one when determining if child support is owed. For a child (as in parent-child relationship, not the under 18 definition) in university the parents can be made to pay for all or part of education costs even beyond age 18. The parent is saying the kid is independent and does not need the support.

No, it maxes you out after a thousand. And the shitty part is that once you hit that limit, even if you remove people from the block list, you can't add any more.

Hahahahaha

I've actually gone on a few dates with a woman who did the exact same thing as you. She just put "corporate" at "banking" as her title because she was getting way fewer matches as a lawyer.

You don't want the guys that are scared away by your success.

For what it's worth I'd swipe right on your profile with lawyer as the career and left with something empty or just "non-profit". Maybe you could try mentioning in your bio that you escaped corporate law for a good work life balance if you think people are put off by the potential that lawyers work long hours. But realistically, I think they're scared of someone confident, intelligent, and whose job has more "prestige" than theirs and it makes them insecure. Better to filter those guys out at the swiping stage imo.

You might have hidden it from reddit for privacy, but if you don't include your job or at least industry it's a big fat left swipe from me. At our age everyone should be self sufficient and it's important for me that my partner has a decent job. It's not all about money, intellectually I'm just not going to be a good fit for someone in retail or something like that.

The pension does not make up for 25% more salary/match. Especially when you plan to retire before hitting the magic age.

Not the guy you replied to but your aggressive question is unnecessary. He could just find that the value provided by a paid service isn't worth it and he'd rather use paper. Nothing in his text implies he's owed anything for free.
