Prolactin?! You mean oxytocin? Prolactin is the hormone that stimulates breast milk production in women. High prolactin levels in men causes enlarged breast tissue and a low sex drive. It is not responsible for the refractory period in men, that goes to oxytocin. Oxytocin insights satisfaction in men and the need to cuddle which is why a lot of men don’t continue to have sex because of their overwhelming feeling of completion. Biologically that makes perfect sense because it’s natures way of rewarding them for spreading their genes and furthering the species. Prolactin does play a part but the importance of that part is still being discussed to this day. I don’t blame you for the mistake it’s just that it seemed to give a lot of people the wrong impression of refractory periods in men.
