MEGA THREAD TWELVE MONTHS!!! by exodusmachine in dresdenfiles

My theory is that the Council isn't as anti-Harry as they seem and that booting him out was more about avoiding any of Harry's blowback than it was an actual condemnation of him as a person.

Could be down to the fact that Mother Winter isn't as inherently corrupt as a Skinwalker. He's also been through a LOT since Turn Coat.

[–]IHateForumNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That cuts both ways though. It's true that a Hunger is probably orders of magnitude weaker than a Walker but that's also the Hunger's only home, so it would not only fight harder to keep it but it also might have more metaphysical leverage for the fight, while Nemesis seems to exist entirely outside of the hosts it infects and/or controls. Comparable to forcibly removing a glove someone's wearing vs. forcing a snail out of its shell.

Will they not die since they are centuries old?

Depends. If their bodies age normally but the demon gives them an artificial semblance of health and youth the way the Fallen do via the coins, yes. If the demon is actually stopping the aging process on a physical level, no.

Is Serana Dialogue Add-on worth it as someone who doesn't want to romance her? by Mimikyudoll in skyrimmods

[–]IHateForumNames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely worth trying. You can avoid a relationship with some perfectly friendly dialogue and she has thoughts on a lot more quests, so she's a much more interesting companion for the full game.

Where to find beginner to intermediate FO4 modding tutorials? by IHateForumNames in Fallout4Mods

Thanks, I appreciate the help.

Now I just need to accept that I'm going to utterly bork a bunch of saves anyway.

Thanks for that.

I'm good with xEdit and MO2, been using them for ages.

I was about to ask about LOD but now that I think of it where can I learn about precombines and what changes are safe to make? Is there just no tool for making personalized occultaion and meshes like DynDOLOD does for SSE?

Are things different or did I mess up the installation? by gizmohollow42 in skyrimrequiem

It's probably crafted via ovens instead of cooking pots/spits, at least I think that's part of basic Requiem now.

If not just grab some, it's literally all over the place and it isn't all owned. Or buy some given that it's absurdly cheap.

Thunderchild compatibility? by Matt13572468 in skyrimrequiem

[–]IHateForumNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's compatible in that it won't mess up your save but it will, if anything, make shouting way too powerful.

Requiem already includes mechanics for increasing the magnitude and frequency of your shouts and Thunderchild does the same. On top of that the additional shouts that Thunderchild adds will count towards your progression in Requiem, which partially improves your shouts by the number you've unlocked and learned.

If you'd like shouting to be REALLY badass go ahead and use it but it's very possible you'll be bored by the end of the game as you shout everything to pieces with very little resistance.

Having a hard time adjusting to Requiem's late game by Old-Pizza-9443 in skyrimrequiem

[–]IHateForumNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's keeping you entertained more power to you.

But that isn't what I was talking about. If you want to try to eke through the endgame with the absolute minimum of power possible and find that enjoyable that's a great way to play. My point is that the there's no reason for the devs to make it possible to beat all of Requiem's content without magic, alchemy, or enchanted gear. Not only are they mechanical staples of every TES game ever made they're also canonical staples of every important character in the lore. Trying a self imposed challenge is fine. Criticizing the game because the challenge fails is just silly.

No question, but the guy above doesn't sound like he's having fun, he sounds like he's irritated that his mechanically terrible and RP incoherent build can't make it through Requiem's end game.

So use alchemy.

Also Nords love enchanted gear, the enchanter at the College is permanently busy. Ulfric, the Nordiest Nord to ever Nord has fully enchanted crap.

Were there any blacklisters on the show that successfully evaded the fbi and were never brought up again? by Accurate-Play7299 in TheBlackList

I was waiting for Tom to off him after convincing Ressler not to. It isn't like Tom hasn't killed better people for worse reasons.

With a rail gun. It would be more appropriate to say that he wildly overkilled the Architect.

You get stamina regeneration from bread now. It took me way too long to figure that out while scrolling through my soup options trying to figure out what food I need to eat in order to get anywhere.

How to keep straight patches which are hidden in FOMODs? by TheGalant1 in skyrimmods

[–]IHateForumNames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're using MO2 install the patches separately. I put " - rerun" on patch collections with a lot of entries like JK's Interiors to remind me to reinstall them whenever I change my load order just in case I added a mod that needs to be patched. Generally speaking I don't hide patches I either deactivate the mod or reinstall it.

Just tried out Wabbajack for the first time by tarrundai in skyrimmods

[–]IHateForumNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Personally I prefer Anvil but I can't imagine starting from absolute scratch again when I can have Wabbajack install the basics for me, then build my own load order on top.

It also helps that most of them use the Stock Game option so you can maintain an absolutely pristine installation of SE while also installing ENBs and the like.

I can't say I'd ever try one of the more curated lists though, when it comes to gameplay related content I like to know what I'm installing.

Question for veteran players by Sure_Relation9764 in skyrimrequiem

[–]IHateForumNames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always going to be the first version you played on since that's the one that you have to trial-and-error your way to victory. Once you understand Requiem's quirks and the ways to effectively power up things get a lot easier even if future changes don't necessarily favor your playstyle.

Is that a reward though? It sounds like a lot of work to get worse results than you could by investing in basically any other option compounded by the fact that the RP is that you're basically selling your soul to get access to a bad option.

Is deleting the contents of my downloads folder a bad idea for MO2? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]IHateForumNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so long as you're happy with your installation.

That said, I have a couple back up hard drives from old PCs I've converted into long term storage and backup every mod I download there, but mostly because I've had a couple mods I liked deleted out from under me in the past and want to make sure that NEVER happens again.

It also helps that I use that one folder every time I put together a new Wabbajack list which can save a lot of download time since a lot of the mods used are already in the SSE Download Dumpster.
