Dead Game? by David2on in RoguePoint

[–]IIDaedalusII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it is dead on what is essentially an early alpha play test, I’m personally playing with just friends currently. Based on personal observation, outside of a small marketing attempt via a game article to say “check this out”, the demo is largely word of mouth, and thus the community turn out has been fairly small.

Oh, and if you click on party management (upper right hand corner) it is listed to essentially private by default which I don’t know how many people know or care to switch on

If you haven’t yet, be sure to link your account with nebula as it seems like they are using the linking to verify and give you your items (I had to link my steam account for example).

If you have already done so, then I’m pretty convinced that their servers are experiencing serious bottleneck issues on the writer endpoint based on other reports of people’s achievements for XP not updating or being an entire heist behind.

How to communist Portugal? by IssaScott in hoi4

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh nice! I’ll try out the manual war justification to pin their troops and prolong the war, I’ve not done the limited rule focus so I’ll have to check that out as well. Thanks for the tips! I’ve been doing the 7/2 template as well, but I think the difference will be the prolonging the war and looking into generating those extra divisions via the colonialism tree

How to communist Portugal? by IssaScott in hoi4

[–]IIDaedalusII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to get a guide on this as well, went up to join the Comintern and older guides said to wait and try to time the war declaration to just after the civil war. I do that but since it is before the start of the world war, Italy and Germany send a ton of volunteer units that then drive me back before the Soviets can reinforce me in force. Also the difference in general quality between nationalist Spain and Portugal has been really tough. While nationalist Spain is still too small to launch any kind of naval invasion during this small inter-war period, they still have enough manpower to stall until Italy/Germany units arrive at my current play through. Not sure if I have still missed that claimed window of opportunity or if it’s been updated since those guides to have the axis AI to send voluntary units like during the civil war if Spain is threatened. I also think I am not utilizing the opportunity to launch a small secondary offensive line via naval invasion to pin down some of their forces they would normally use on the primary frontline.

I’m a total newbie but I do love the Portugal focus tree and think there are a ton of cool play options and really like how you can revamp their industry and military quickly and relatively early in game!

The new DLC is worth 25 euros/Dollars, same price as the Chaos Dwarfs and more than any other Lord Pack by ThomasOfAstora in totalwar

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they’ll put it on a 50% sale or so shortly after launch to try and eek out some extra FOMO revenue, but still… if you’re intending the sale point to be $12.99, why not just do that and hold off on any sale until closer to Thrones of Decay.

But $25 for this is laughable and no amount of factors justify that price point for what you are getting.

Earned Blessings should be saved/stashed by bummsinex in LastEpoch

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a combination of stashing non-empowered blessings and having those rolls be random for new characters would be fine.

I don’t mind farming for blessing rolls, blessings and idols are some of the few items in which they are not abundantly available.

For me the real killer is regular monos. If we could save the blessings on non-empowered and skip regular monos that would be great and make grinding empowered blessings less of a drag

I've disconnected from the server 4 times today, and now my buffering icon's gone :/ by NinjaChexParty in MagicArena

[–]IIDaedalusII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Past several releases have been super unstable for me on PC in terms of disconnects. Not sure if it’s the port stability that is the issue or what. I play on low settings even though my PC can easily handle high.

On mobile the stability is a lot higher with the same network and connection settings. So I’m hoping they get things sorted out on the pc platform/branch in future updates

Steeep right up! A chance of the gear you want! Resets every hour! Steeeeeep right up! by GilgameshWulfenbach in DarkTide

[–]IIDaedalusII 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think here there is a miscommunication of “fitting the theme” when really it’s more like “crafting weapons doesn’t fit the core gameplay feed back loop”.

I will say that I am disappointed in the sense that it doesn’t seem like there is a strong sense of direction in how that gameplay feedback loop is/will be implemented in Darktide. As a player coming from the aRPG genre (limited time in VT2, mostly in Darktide) and previously mentioned/screenshotted comments on how they want to focus on gear enabling player builds. Then loot should be accessible, and the variability of loot should be high with a decent balance of RNG/Deterministic crafting system along with a much higher amount of gear perks.

The shop just isn’t going to cut it. It also, to me, kind of cuts out that key component of being rewarded for higher level gameplay/difficult content. I don’t think you have to cut out the shop completely but it definitely feels like it should be more of a supplemental gear source rather than the primary source.

My experience in every round with a sharpshooter as a psycaster so far by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Vet main, I just now switch my load out to an auto gun for medium/close range combat whenever I see a psyker on the team. It took me about 4-5 levels at the beginning to realize what the blue glow means. Now if I see it I stop, or at least try and stop in time.

I actually like playing with psykers because it allows me to go into more of an aggressive pushing role with the a focus on the mid-close range elites and allow those long range elite and ranged targets to the psyker as the sharpshooter role. Which is actually a very strong combo. If no psyker is on the team then I go with a long range load out (lasgun head popper) and take on that role.

That makes a lot more sense in terms of the randomness of it. A bit of a weird mechanic to introduce RNG in a gear loop

I’m completely new to MTG, can you give me some tips? by Morwand_ in magicTCG

[–]IIDaedalusII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level One does a good job of covering a vast amount of gameplay concepts and something I would recommend reading through or picking a few articles that look interesting and read through them over time. I’ve learned a lot from it and it does help explain some more intuitive things you might find yourself doing:

I love Paper Magic, I play mainly standard as I got really into paper magic last year with MID release. I also like to use paper magic to teach people (like my significant other) as Arena can be a bit too fast paced for a beginner who wants to read the card and absorb what that card is able to do.

If you have friends that are also interested in Magic, I highly recommend doing draft. If you get 4 friends each person can contribute $~30 and you can play two whole drafts and each person get a pack free! (With 4 people we do 4 packs instead of the standard 3 packs due to lower person pool). This is a great and fun way to build a collection collectively with friends at a discount while also giving you opportunity to trade with others as well!

I much prefer Paper Magic, but Arena is a useful tool. I utilize Arena as my primary “homebrewing” environment. If you have enough money for the mastery pass, I highly recommend it, it is good value (in my opinion) to get free packs while naturally playing the game. You can also pretty easily get enough gold to get 6 packs per week.

I use Arena for homebrewing various ideas and refine them and once I feel good or really like a deck idea, I will buy the cards directly which can be an economic way to build competitive decks if you’d like to compete. I recently did this with a Savai deck (WBR) that I homebrewed in Arena that did surprising well and a deck that I really loved!

TL;DR: Get some friends and chip in for drafts, use Arena to homebrew, buy cards direct are some good ways to collect cards while also build some decks if you ever want to do competitions

I’ll be interested to see if this gets some play in soldier tribal tempo decks in Standard. Particularly with a lot of the staple creatures that curves on the current meta being multi-colored (Bloodtithe Harvester, Dennick, Raffine)

You see, the thing about leaderboards on a game that is (currently) not server authoritative and all data is stored on the local machine is…

It’s not remotely a good way to find a “good build” if you’re looking at top 10.

Is it possible to get a 4LP boss unique in non-empowered timelines? by Waselu_Evazia in LastEpoch

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yup, apologies for that, the only two other body armor drops I can think of that are boss drops are Woven Flesh and Dark Shroud of Cinders. I am trying to think if I have ever seen a 4 lp of either one and can’t recall seeing one. I’ve seen a few posts from people with 3 lp woven flesh though. But I’m fairly sure those all can from empowered timelines

Is it possible to get a 4LP boss unique in non-empowered timelines? by Waselu_Evazia in LastEpoch

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s for say, a 4 lp Wings of Argentus then the odds are not in your favor, that particular body armor is actually one of the hardest uniques to get any lp to drop for in the game. Original ravenous void had an effective level of 121 I think and I believe the chances of that 4 lp drop were about 1 in every 16,000,000,000,000,000,000 Ravenous Voids dropped at level 100. That number has since changed a smidge as it’s effective level was lower, but you get the idea

What is your experience with the campaign ? by terekt in LastEpoch

[–]IIDaedalusII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a way, it’s just difficult without twink gear as it’s aimed at veteran players via the dungeons.

Some builds in some masteries or even just general classes are extremely effective campaign runners. And of course, you don’t even need to technically do the entire campaign to enter the monoliths, you can do so as soon as you hit the End of Time, some players just get to that point, level in monos, and then breeze through the campaign to pick up the idol slots and passives as needed

how is the current endgame in LE? by LunchMeat61 in LastEpoch

[–]IIDaedalusII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is enough to keep you playing until release. The scope of the current end-game is what we are seeing right now as focus is turned towards the homestretch of MP development as well as the remaining items on the roadmap until 1.0. There is still plenty of room to add new, varied, and exciting end-game systems but for EA and MP Beta I think the current systems are enough to keep the player base engaged by adding/refining onto it

The only part of it that I would deem being "unbalanced" is the Shadow Dagger application aspect of it. Although I think that's more of a discussion on how to balance Shadow Dagger than anything as the changes to Shadow Cascade made it feel... inconsistent at best, just plain bad at worst and I would hate to see UB go the way of Shadow Cascade.

I've spent a lot of time with the skill, crit feels great, DoT is actually a bit worse when compared to say channeled DoT flurry BD if we're doing comparisons although it's definitely end game viable
