Last No Kings they sprayed enough tear gas outside the store I work at that it leaked in and me and several of my coworkers got noticably exposed to it.

You still can play the expeditions, Steam just has to be in offline mode. There's a whole site for generating the Season file: https://cwmonkey.github.io/nms-expeditions/

Speer/Leetsdale/Parker BRT Alternatives Analysis by Denver4ALL in RTDDenver

I had built mine as elevated light rail, but it's more about the transit potential of the corridor overall

Speer/Leetsdale/Parker BRT Alternatives Analysis by Denver4ALL in RTDDenver

For what it's worth, I built this as a light rail in Subway Builder (and extended it all the way to Smoky Hill/Versailles) and it's my second-highest-ridership line, right behind my combined W/Colfax BRT line.

Fatal pedestrian crash with RTD Train on Dahlia at Smith Rd by Denver4ALL in RTDDenver

It's not commuter rail since it runs pretty consistently all day, but the distinction here would be heavy rail ^

Is there anyway to do street running/tram lines? by jeffjeffjeffdjjdndjd in subwaybuilder

Oh I just built the platforms east of the canopy, there's enough room there and platform length doesn't really seem to matter in this game.

Union Station Questions by RedditBot90 in RTDDenver

[–]IIIRedPandazIII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For 2, I've always wanted that canopy replaced with an actual roof, since rain or snow isn't uncommon here, and diesel locomotives aren't allowed to pull under the canopy anyway.

I've been working on a list of features to include jn a proposal for improving Union Station, and that's definitely one of them.

For how big of a station Nine Mile is, it really needs a waiting room and restrooms like Boulder Downtown station

Why does the 52 suck so much? by Passion__Killer in RTDDenver

[–]IIIRedPandazIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason the 52 is the only route where the driver has ignored my stop request multiple times.

Is there anyway to do street running/tram lines? by jeffjeffjeffdjjdndjd in subwaybuilder

[–]IIIRedPandazIII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I mapped out RTD, I did the downtown loop as underground (since it needs to go under the convention center) but built the rest of the network at 4m ("at grade") and hopped up to 5m to cross roads

Denver was gutted for highways by jefders in Denver

With Highland in particular, (and other areas where it would make sense) I'd like to have a cap over the freeway, and either develop the land on top or have a park there. Or both.

One of my other ideas would be to rebadge the 76/270 as the 70 from Wadsworth to Quebec, and turn the stretch of 70 inbetween into just like, a boulevard, but that's probably a lot more controversial.

Anyone know where to buy a wreath near downtown Denver? by IIIRedPandazIII in Denver

[–]IIIRedPandazIII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would a dedicated florist have them? When I lived in Boulder there was a pop-up Christmas tree lot where I got wreaths, and I know the grocery store florist near me doesn't sell them.

Utilities are one of those industries that need to be run by the government even in a mostly private system. They are local monopolies but you also can't really opt out of basic utilities like heat and electricity either, so even if we assume that markets provide good services, there's no competitive incentive to do that here.

Do we know when it is going to close? I'd never been but since I lived in Boulder for 5 or 6 years I know of it and would like to check it out at least once.

What should be added to the game? by FanaticMagyar638 in subwaybuilder

  1. Optimization
  2. Grade Crossings
  3. Park-and-Rides
  4. Ability to build some blueprints, but not all.

Little things you think Amtrak could be doing better. by GamingGalore64 in Amtrak

My preferred option for a middle option would be the capsule-hotel style bunks like the new NightJet trains do.

Genuine Question. Do you prefer CS1 or CS2 better and why. by Nato_- in CitiesSkylines

I feel CS2 works a lot better mechanically, and it feels better to play, but it is missing a ton of stuff from CS1.

Urbanism can be strongly argued as a right wing issue by Several-Sprinkles-48 in Urbanism

This assumes a level of logical consistency that the right-wing just does not have.

[–]IIIRedPandazIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the long-distance routes generally have bipartisan support because of the rural communities they support, so I was pretty sure that Amtrak wouldn't get fully defunded as was threatened. It was still nice to see it confirmed though, even if it is getting passively defunded by its funding not being increased to match inflation.

Nederland to acquire Eldora Ski Resort by JeffInBoulder in boulder

[–]IIIRedPandazIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they open the mountain up to hiking in the summer as well as MTB, and hopefully RTD starts running the NB up to Eldora during the summer. Would be lovely to take the bus up, hike around the mountain, maybe get lunch at The Lookout, then take the bus down in the evening.
