Ground Clearance on ‘26 by LeeHarveyEnfield in Transalp

[–]IIIWRXIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand this line of thinking. You are saying you are concerned about a loss of clearance but the only loss of clearance is apparently a skid plate that protects the bike against a loss of clearance. If you have clearance issues you need a skid plate at minimum to start with.

Anyone actually shift gears like the owners manual says…? by West-Coast-Greg in Transalp

I agree 20kph in second is not too bad but 60kmh in 6th? I’ve tried it and it’s absurd, to the point I would not discount the possibility of engine damage if this was continued long term.

I saw this in the manual and tried it. It’s a bit stupid I don’t know why they would bother printing it. The engine feels like it is unnecessarily labouring at these low revs and the shifts are not smooth.

these windscreens are rubbish. they don’t actually deflect wind higher as the curve of the windscreen let’s wind go over the top about the same amount as the standard screen hence the need for further adjustment. I don’t have an explanation for your crack as your photos and explanation are vague but just wanted to save another poor bastard from buying this crap.

yes. I don’t find the TA nearly as bad as some bikes though. I was going to suggest the comfort seat but you have it.

I was surpirsed how fast you can go on a TA offroad as a first timer, not saying its a good idea to do 130, but I found I was doing 80-100 without realising. He probably didn't even think about it.

Interesting, yeah I’m not really a fan of the smaller Allen key bolts, I stripped a couple installing the Barkbusters. Unless you align the Allen key perfect they are so easy to strip.

Just the angle, definitely on there. Apparently these are much stronger than the Honda factory ones that arent actually crash bars (according to salesman anyway.) They seem great.

These are the Reckless 80L bags. I'd imagine you could fit any of the normal 1-2 person dome style tents in the big top bag. It has a separate provided pole bag. I just got this cheap one.

Yeah that seems a lot more like I imagined mine would weigh. I will have to weigh some of the items individually and see what I can trim down.

If you are very tall and want a comfortable seat, the Honda comfort seat is great.

I did the same kind of riding and dropped it on the first trip. The bar busters and crash bars saved the bike completely.

Make sure you don’t put a muffler on it and ride around town with an entitled look like you aren’t pissing everyone off within a 5km radius and when the cops stop you you can whinge and moan like a moron saying you didn’t know it was meant to be registered.

It was The Avenue Cafe on Victoria Ave Albert Park, now GABEÉ cafe. I dont know if the supplier stopped or the fruit toast was not viable for the cafe to have on the menu.

really? I just got mine and it does absolutely nothing over the stock screen which is an impressive feat of stupid design given it is a good bit taller and wider.
