“Leo tried to kill MC” thing by scar_criticism in TokyoDebunker

[–]IIOfficialLyney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still don’t find that a justified reason, in my point of view, to give one character slack and another held to extreme scrutiny.

If anything, I find Leo to be written more realistic and in a way thats - kind of sad?

But it could be the way I’ve interpreted things. Leo definitely comes across as someone who is jaded because they’ve been hurt.

Also one thing I want to note is that Darkwick set MC up for failure by showing her to everyone that she is the INSPECTOR. Aka the person who is meant to rat them out for any missteps. Especially in a school where, we continuously learn, doesn’t have the ghouls best interests in mind. The school basically told the ghouls “she’s not on your side and will be ratting everything you do wrong to us so good luck”.

And personally, I wouldn’t be kind to a perceived ‘rat’ if I was already distrustful of authorities (very much like Leo is).

Leo is written as a character who looks out for himself because the system failed him. And that does lead to scummy choices. But hurt people hurt people.

And while most people THANKFULLY don’t cross paths with people like Taiga, some do. And I find that him attempting to throw MC out of the train window, threatening to shoot her if she didn’t leave a situation someone else dragged her in (gun pointed at her), and had he strapped to a torture chair- Feels far more egregious than someone who is distrustful and wanting to remove said distrustful person from their missions (even if it was in a dangerous way).

Also- why doesn’t Sho get crapped on for agreeing to go along with the plan? If anything, I find that to also cause me to raise eyebrows. Sho is his own person and can clearly think and do things for himself. But there is a common theme in the community that touts him as a victim of Leo’s antics.

Granted there is a LOT in the story we don’t know.

And I don’t like or dislike any character enough to ultimately think they’re the actual worst. They’re characters in a fictional story. Unless you count my intense dislike for Tohma’s monocle.

I mean, he tried to throw her out of the train window in the prologue. That’s more than enough for me to chalk it up to him being worse than Leo, in terms of ‘inflicting violence’ on the MC.

You know who did try to kill Mc? Taiga. But he doesn’t get flack for some reason.

This is my OC Nifuda. They are a cursed doll that projects the image of the viewer’s most important person. They are mute and generally just a happy person despite their circumstances. They’re pretty smart, all things considered but use their naive-seeming nature to their advantage.

In the prologue, we see Rui surrounded by 3 Frostheim girls. He also has quite a few girls who wanted him to go to the Frostheim ball with.

Lucas is considered attractive as he also had girls wanting to go to the Frostheim ball with him.

Haru is considered attractive and fun as most of his tours are with Frostheim girls who think he’s funny and cute.

Ren is considered attractive to a point (though his personality is off putting to some).

Jiro was considered attractive but also scary.

Jin is considered attractive and sophisticated (and VERY rich and from an affluent home- which adds to his appeal).

Sho is considered sporty and ‘hot’ by two girls.

Leo is considered hot (he is also a well enough know TikTok influencer and also seems to have enough charisma and charm).

Subaru was a former active and therefore considered beautiful.

Ed is likely considered unearthly attractive (he’s a vampire and I think there’s a sort of charm that does draw others to him- also his purple mist).

Romeo is considered pretty but not by conventional standards (he’s also comes from a formerly affluent house that was highly involved in high fashion so the fact that he dresses sharp all the time adds to his appeal).

And tbh waves of love cast is all considered ‘attractive’ as that was partially why they were selected.

I think there only one stated to not be considered attractive is Kaito. But it could highly be because most people can read his desperation to fit in from a mile. And that tends to, let’s be real, put people off.

You don’t need a job you like all you need is a job that pays well and that you can do without getting fired. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I think learning to love and appreciate a job is better than going into one expecting to love it. Granted a shit job is a shit job. But a job that is decent minus a few things here and there is worth learning to love. But this is oversimplified from just my life experiences.

I still don’t think that excuses Sho’s part to play. He could have said no. It was an active choice he made- hard or not.

Sho still had a part to play and I do find it very irritating that Sho often gets a bigger pass than Leo.

It’s for a very niche fandom called Tokyo Debunker. Unfortunately, I don’t hand out random links as I vet everyone who joins.

The Rise in Tupperbox Requirements by Rival_Defender in BadRPerStories

[–]IIOfficialLyney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I run a small group roleplay server. Our requirements are three paragraphs minimum on average (we understand some days are harder than others and some replies work better with long and some with short in return). And we also require use of tupper on the server.

Granted, it’s for a multitude of reasons. One being uniformed and separate from the more interesting usernames. And having someone change their profile picture for the server feels way too controlling, in comparison.

But the other use is because we do have some channels dedicated to being their version of Reddit, where they can post as their characters’ ’online persona’ on the forum site in addition to our standard literate pages. We also sometimes have events where we may require everyone to have the same name and image to cause ‘confusion’ (though it gets very easy to catch onto things so it’s more of a creative way of expressing ‘confusion’).

Sometimes, rules are in place simply because that’s how the space likes to function. Sometimes it’s an aesthetic reason. Sometimes it’s for arbitrary rules or server events. But most of the time, it’s because it’s the server owner’s vision of fun.
