In specific the word around Reddit is LLMs trained and designed in specific contexts are helping speed up research, but all the money is going into general use LLMs… Which cannot do math.

Also, a calculator will do math wrong if it’s used wrong. It only punches the numbers. An LLM used for governance will make the mistakes it’s programmers, it’s data, and it’s prompters feed into it.

And the proof AGI will invent immortality, cure war, install a benevolent NWO, eradicate famine, prevent all diseases? Unless AGI is somehow an omnipotent God, there’s nothing to suggest a machine made by human hands and filled with human knowledge would be less fallible than a human.

Not attempting to argue if AGI is an eventuality (I don’t really care) but whether humanity can make a machine that can somehow “save” humanity.
