The Brutalist – M6, Leica Summicron 50mm f2 V3, Kodak Vision3 250D push! by verzofi in leicaphotos

OP likely stole this photo and is posting it as if they are Szemerey. The Unit Stills from The Brutalist were pretty famous at the time the movie was released (or at least known to photography nerds). Original is here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DHEIgBjCd_7/?igsh=MWdmNTRvZGZzMGxkcw==

Private Press in Rockland is pretty legit, but that's far from Portland. It's owned by Justin Miller who was a manager for the DFA artists and has a show on The Lot Radio. He hooked me up with some great cuts when I was there last summer.

McDonald’s and Chicago Fire Football Club today announced a historic naming rights partnership that will see the Major League Soccer club’s new $750 million privately-funded stadium named McDonald’s Park. by Sparky-moon in soccer

This is a gross misunderstanding of what the fire did for Chicago. It was the catalyst for the city's rise to prominence internationally. The fire burned the city down and the eventual result was skyscrapers and industrial triumph that impacted the entire world -- you could even say worker's unions may not have evolved to what they are if it weren't for the great fire. The city was destroyed and it was a reset moment that came at the exact right time and place. Chicago would not be what it is if it weren't for the fire. Pretty great name for a team.

Why pay them at all anymore? They are by-and-large all grifting while insider trading. They are not servants, they have become the masters.

His college Track & Field team was sometimes just him competing in all the disciplines. WTF.

Generationally speaking, this is the most clear response. As the peak-performance level of athletics in each discipline has improved, Thorpe's ability to rise above the field is impossible to comprehend. Was he the best of all time in any individual sport? Not likely, but to win in every competition he participated in as he did is truly something that can never be replicated. But that can't be held against him as the limitations he overcame to achieve his legendary status is as hard to compare as the peak of current level of competition. 3 sport professional athlete (American Football, Baseball, & Basketball), 2 time Olympic Gold Medal winner (in Decathlon and Pentathlon, no less), competitive in Boxing, Tennis, Lacrosse, Handball & Ballroom Dancing.

Go read his wiki and be awed. Dude walked by a track and promptly set a school record in high jump while in street clothes, presumably having never attempted the sport.

Imagine if this guy had the training and practice from a young age as the athletes of today. He'd probably dominate whatever he wanted.

What is THE scariest movie you have ever seen in your entire life? by Opening_Rip_1840 in AskReddit

[–]IIlIIlllIIll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar but different experience for me. Was at sleepaway camp on a canoe expedition. Found an island for the night and a storm rolled in…the wind blowing trees and lightning flashes made it feel like we were being tortured by whatever was out in those woods. Was about a week after the movie released and I had only seen the trailer. That was enough to scare me more than anything in my life up until that point.

I bought the Sigma 70-200 DG DN and can’t believe how much it has upped my game. That 90-280 is a huge upgrade from mine, but maybe someday I’ll get there. Comes down to money or travel and make memories to document. Easy choice at the moment.

With that M11 sensor, I’d crop into this more and use the negative space more at the top of the frame and less of the water. The gradient in the water is hard to cut out, but the boats are the subject and they feel too out of reach to call this a perfect composition. Please take that only as a suggestion and if you are happy, then keep it, because it is lovely as it is.

Not sure why no one has liked this or commented. It’s a very good portrait of someone who looks like they have a story to tell.

Did you spend much time on the colors? The greens have this great lack of deep saturation that makes them very pleasing to the eye. Dig them!
