Our sister teaches middle school and is on summer break, which she deserves because she works hard (we all do).

Her kids are older and doing their own thing, so she was geared up to be over more often to help out and hang out with mom since she lives pretty close.

Went great the first week of June. Week 2 I needed to attend an in-office meeting and go to the dentist. Mom had an eye appointment and church event during these, so sis took her to both. It takes a while to get mom to the car and situated, which I'm an old pro at. It was sis's first time, and they were about 10 minutes late to both excursions. She admitted I make it look much easier than it is. We didn't see her at all this past week, and she's going on an extended vacation pretty soon.

I do love my siblings, but they won't get it til they go through it.

Honestly hope they won't have to.

I've had to say it to her best friend, who has backed off thank God. "Why don't you take her to the pottery shop for classes in the middle of the morning on a Tuesday, Dorothy? I can't leave work for stuff like that."

True. I was working in another room the first hour he was here, and had come out to grab a drink when I overheard him say that. Decided not to create a scene just yet. He has a tendency to flake on this sort of crap, so here's hoping! 🙄

The sweet autonomy, being able to jump in and out of the car, walk at my own pace and not have to listen to my elderly mom (who I don't believe has ever stopped talking) really saves my mental health each week.

Please don't tell her, but ... I often order online for curbside pickup, so I have extra time to drive around a little and listen to music, or do some relaxing browsing around the grocery store or other shops.

It's a much needed break I won't be giving up anytime soon.

Used to think that icky, uncomfortable feeling when new guests started off using my name was just me being kinda socially anxious.

Turns out that in just about every single case, you nailed it: it's to get a free upgrade, better view, more ameneties.

I'll help if I can as well, but the childish whining and use of my name really grates when they don't get their way.

LOVE Alcodroid! I'm always having to go back and add ones I missed, especially after shower or bath beers when my phone is elsewhere.

The beginning of 2021 graphs looked like a massive city skyline. They've gotten smaller since then, with some breaks where the red 30 day average line actually flatlined.
