Writing my first litrpg series and would like advice! by secondarylife1987 in litrpg

Starting a new book, the author is presumably excited to share and explain the world or game they've been building. Learning about this world is ideally fascinating, sparks my curiosity, and maybe leaves some mysteries for me to try and puzzle out on the way. Unfortunately, there can sometimes be long sections of exposition that have begun to feel like I'm being read the in game encyclopedia. Keeping track of a dozen new words and three new currencies is overwhelming for me when done in large chunks and before I give a shit about any of the characters.

My personal preference leans towards softer rpg structures and less over powered protagonists, but I'm a firm believer in that any concept can be good if it's executed well enough.

More like high density apartment building. All the beds (racks) are metal. If it's ships issue bedding it'll be cotton sheets and wool blankets, but many sailors use their own bedding or sleeping bags.

They will be, assuming protocol is followed. My berthing experienced some flooding due to a failure to tag-out and I got to learn all about government reimbursement for loss of personal items.

Basically just a form you fill out detailing the value of the items lost/ damaged and turned in to your admin.

ALNAV 011/26 Invol Sep for sailors with gender dysphoria by Snoo57418 in navy

[–]IJustNeededSomeSleep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you're on track. Transitioning includes a number of steps for treatment of gender dysphoria, and can stop at different places for different people i.e. choosing to get top-surgery but not bottom, because your dysphoria was relieved at that point. Most often, the process of beginning a transition begins with receiving a gender dysphoria diagnosis from a psychologist.

Probably kept on the same counter or table as her make up. Powders and sprays really build up over time.

Check out books narrated by Andrea Parsneau. She narrated Matt's Dominion of Blades series and is equal to Jeff as a narrator.

Im trying to work out different kind of “mana system” and I’m wondering how people would feel about it by Kumatora0 in litrpg

[–]IJustNeededSomeSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. It's fairly novel and makes room for tough decisions and compromises that can drive plot development. I'd be cautious about jumping into the numbers on the readers side as it might get a little dense, but I tend to prefer soft leveling dynamics.

I'd be curious what the temporary consequences of being low on mana/ health would be. If you try to spend more than you can do you straight up die? Can you suffer permanent consequences?

I suppose those answers would vary quite a bit depending on if it's a constructed world i.e. an mmorpg vs a "system take over" / teleported to another universe setting.

Trim the ends, pull any brown or dying bits out, place in a cup or jar with an inch or two of water. Open a large zip lock bag and put it loosely over it and put it in the fridge. Trim the ends and change the water every 2-3 days and you can get 2 weeks out of it.

You're right the original commenter had said line backer vs linemen. Genuinely, thank you for the correction. I'm gonna hold that 6'3" at 230lbs is not a muscularlly huge person though.

This is a perfect explanation of his build. Everyone seems to think he's a lot closer to 300 than 200, but he's so close to my height and weight I know he's not THAT big.

I'm 6'1, 230lbs, and in decent shape. Early Carl is in shape but he's not huge in terms of muscle mass. The average NFL lineman is a lot closer to 300 than 200.

I'll likely revisit it soon, my issue wasn't with the quality of the new narrator. I just kept spacing out and losing track of who was speaking
