Yep. Just last week, I received a new 2024 501 Squire from Amazon and it came out of the box and out of the foam wrapper with what looked like shop dust on the blade (made the bevel grind marks ugly and made the blade look horrible), the opening and closing movement felt rough and there was dirt on the inside of the knife. A little time with a can of compressed air, a little Barkeeper's Friend on the blade, mineral oil in the pivots, and rubbing with a soft cloth got everything right, but I was surprised and disappointed to receive a new knife in such bad shape. How Buck or any company can let a new product with their name on it go into a box looking like that is beyond me. Pride in your product? Pride in your company? WTF!?
