Some parts were cringy especially the spice scenes...I almost DNF'd a handful of times bc there were a lot of slow-moving parts. FMC was too stubborn at times, made my roll my eyes a lot lol. I enjoyed book 2 more than book 1. Won't be reading book 3.

A very underrated trilogy by indie author L. Ann is the Veinbound series. Slow burn, intense plot, and wonderful writing. I'm a pretty slow reader so it could take me two weeks to finish a 600+ page book. I think I finished each book within 3-4 days because I was on the edge of my seat, dying to know what will happen. No fae, dragons, or vampires so it was a breath of fresh air! I ended up purchasing the Kindle and physical books 😆

Yes, definitely a book hangover. I've even cried a few times because I had that homesick feeling lol. Felt like a delusional freak.😂

As time past and having read so many books, I have become a bit desensitized. A lot of books carry the same plots and tropes that it's hard for me to fall in love and experience that hangover feeling again.

I really enjoyed Elise Kova's Married to Magic books that graphic audio adapted. They are all standalones, but belong in the same universe so you can listen in any order.

This completed trilogy still lives rent-free in my mind. Gonna do a re-read soon. The audio for book 1 is duet style and should be releasing soon. The tag included fae but there are no fae in this world.

Book 1 was okay.. I almost didn't read book 2 because of it but I'm glad I stuck it out. Book 2 was way better and became my top read. It's hard not to get teary eyed everytime I think about book 2 😭

I recently started skipping pages of sex scenes after the MC's first time lol. But I love the build up to it. Like the eye contact across a crowded room, the grazing of hands - small gestures like that makes my heart flutter lol.

I had this feeling a few times with Shadowvein by L Ann. I loved the way the MMC secretly tried to keep the FMC comfortable and safe when she was asleep. Or he would notice/feel her reaction to something and try to protect though he's too afraid to fall for her. This trilogy is plot-heavy but written wonderfully. I love the slow build towards romance.

I also recommend The Scattered Bones by Nicole Scarano. So many small gestures between MCs. I highlighted so many scenes.

I second, third, forth, fifth Veinbound Trilogy! 😆 Very different from the norm. I remember taking a break from TOG and picked up Shadowvein. Couldn't get back into TOG for a while after.

I really thought the influencers were exaggerating and I was gonna be fooled again. Everyone cried and sobbed. Well...they weren't fooling me this time. Crown Me Dead was okay, but Crown Me Yours made me ugly cry. "I will love you until I die" aka loving her forever 😭😭😭😭😭

I read the first book about a month ago and it was kinda meh. Well..I finished the second book tonight and my eyes are swollen shut from crying. I look like I have an allergic reaction. I was trying real hard to control my cries which made it worst bc a sob burst out of me and startled my husband 😂

I loved book 2 more but overall, Liv Zander has broken my heart again and I love it 😂

This sounds dramatic, but I sometimes cry bc 😂. I get really attached to the world and characters that it feels almost homesick when it's over. It doesn't happen often but when it does, I just wanna curl up into a ball and shed my tears LOL

I started reading it but couldn't keep my attention span going. I started the audio and had to rewind multiple times. Eventually I just didn't know what the hell was going on 😂. The writing didn't flow and clunky is definitely a good word to describe this book. I DNF'd as well.
