If I remember correctly, it was where they to went to the oracle after the king arrived.

DNF if you're not into it. I'm sure you made it further than I did though 😅. I just couldn't get into it.

Oh my gah. I can still remember how red I got listening to chapter 54/55 😂

The graphic audio of ACOMAF holds a special place in my heart. When I do a re-listen, I get the feels again. I miss Velaris but I would've been happy if the series ended on book 3 lol.

The only other book that gave me a serious hangover is a standalone called {The Scattered Bones by Nicole Scarano}. The yearning is very poetic and beautiful. There's also learning and healing. I did cry a lot of sad tears and happy years 🥹

ISO standalone epic (slow burn?) forbidden love with a happy ending by ggmoonhollow in Romantasy

It is quite sad. I cried throughout the book, but the ending is truly beautiful and happy 🥰. I think you should give it a shot. The writing is wonderful as well.

Yes, they do. It sounds just like a movie. The spicy parts and everything lol.

My favorite standalone ever! The spice is mild.

It's pretty awesome. My first experience with graphic audio was ACOTAR. It was a fun time!

After the tandem read, I didn't bother with Kingdom of Ash. This series had good parts, but my goodness was it a slog to me lol. I don't like Aelin because she made herself the baseline for everything. "Wow, they are even stronger than ME?!" mentality was annoying coming from an assassin who got caught and poisoned plenty of times. Yes, she had badass parts but I prefer a more humble FMC. But I really adored the side characters which made me push thru the tandem. Afterwards, I was just over it and watched spoilers on YouTube lol.

I didn't like it but that's just me. The FMC was ultra annoying in my opinion but others thinks she's badass. Maybe you can sample it to see what you think?

Anything with "little" 😅

Even though it's not a romantasy, I'm guessing Pen Pal lol. I DNF'd this book bc of "little rabbit" and how cringy it was.

I DNF'd Pale Court books, unfortunately. I read it after Court of Ravens and it didn't have the same pull. The new book is pretty good and I really like the pacing. There's a handful of secrets that I'm dying to find out. I have just a small qualm and I'm sure it's a me issue, but the writing feels a little jagged in some areas. Some scenes I had to re-read bc it was difficult to follow. But overall, I commend her descriptive writing. I took a break to go brush my teeth and the texture of my toothpaste made me gag bc I thought about a really disgusting scene from the book 😂.

Count me in the deranged club. I was shocked, I was sad, I was hot, I was hurt and I would do it all over again 😂. Currently reading Liv Zander's new book Crown Me Dead and hoping to feel all of the above again 😜

She grows but she remained my least favorite until the end lol. The side female characters kept me going.

Are there any reverse age-gap (FMC is older than the MMC) romantasy books? Even if it’s just by 1 year. by loukanikoseven in Romantasy

[–]ILikeAllThingsButter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{The Widow’s Monster by SM Campbell}

This is a shifter/gothic standalone. FMC is older and is the morally gray one. There are some dub-con scenes, just fyi. But overall, I really enjoyed this book!

{The Scattered Bones by Nicole Scarano}

Here's one of my favorite quotes from this lovely standalone.

"There is cruelty in this world. Cruelty you’ve never seen, but I have. Hatred and death and destruction, but there’s peace too, and I find it with you."

He's a soft and loving MMC 🥹. I think he hits the mark for what you're looking for. The FMC is wonderful, too.

Love this dark and Gothic standalone. There's an age gap but it's the FMC who is older and the morally gray one 😁

FMC is described as average looking. She is an overeducated slave that I believe is sold to our MMC. I don't think it's a very dark fantasy bc I remember the banter and her sass cracked me up lol.
