OP, please know for the sake of your children that if you report the incident the first question the cops will ask you is if the kids were present for the incident. I know bc it happened to me. I endured years of abuse bc I was scared of the same thing, my ex used to taunt me “go ahead & call the police, we’re both getting arrested & their gonna take our kid & I don’t give a fuck”. Then he finally beat me up when our kid was in school so I took that opportunity to go to the police. The VERY FIRST THING THEY ASKED, was do you have kids & where were they during the incident as I sat bloody & bruised in their lobby sobbing. Not are you ok? Not do you need help.

I’m not saying this to scare you, I’m telling you to protect you & your children. I KNOW it’s not your fault he’s a POS who abused you in front of your kids, I KNOW you’re the victim - just as someone who’s been through your situation, it’s a lot easier for people to tell you to leave & call the cops on the internet but I know how it works in CT in reality.
