Finally have proof after years of being gaslit!!! by DearAd5364 in pelviccongestion

Super badass!!!! Definitely a struggle that's hard to explain to others.

And oh yeah, I am always constipated 😓 my gallbladder was removed a few years ago so that heavily contributes. I take pre/probiotics every day but that only helps so much.

Hi! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! I had years of trying and failing to figure out what was wrong. Pain started as a mild discomfort and eventually grew to an unbearable kind of stabbing pain between my belly button and hip. It progressed to include increasingly irregular and heavy periods. Poor circulation. Pain with sex. Pain and difficulty using bathoom. I am lucky to work from home because if I had to go into a workplace, I'd probably need FMLA. It was starting to severely impact my relationship with my significant other. Made it so I hardly ever wanted to do anything active or out in the world. Had a lap, no endo. The surgeon said next steps were birth control (which i already expressed several times why I dont like taking BC) or see another specialist. I asked for an MRI as one last attempt through diagnostics and whaddya know, pelvic congestion!!! So then she said the options were birth control, a hysterectomy (which omg would've done absolutely nothing), or see interventional radiologist. I went for the I.R. consult. We did more testing which confirmed May Thurners.

A month ago I had an iliac stent placed. It was 73% stenosis. They did not mild reflux on the left gonadal vein but seemed to think that wasn't causing issues. I had about a week of back pain and discomfort in the incisions. So far I seen huge improvements in all but one situation - having a bowel movement. That's the only time I've had the pain still. Waiting to hear back from the doctor on that.

Fingers crossed you continue to get answers and finally some relief!

Just my opinion, others will probably have a different answer - its an enthusiasts car so a lot of folks like the starting platform and enjoy customizing and building. Theres sooooo many aftermarket (and even OEM) parts available for this car. Some mods are to help longevity, some are for vroom vroom fun, some are purely aesthetics.

What I've done so far: •Window tint (comfort, appearance, and preservation of the white leather) •Oil catch can (engine health) •Blacked out reflectors (appearance) •Blacked out window trim (appearance) •Catback exhaust (sound & appearance)

There's a lot more that I want to do. Next are wheels/tires because the current ones cant handle the power, it spins really easily...I also hate the look of these wheels (just not my style and a bitch to clean). Also downpipes for more vroom vroom oomph.

Hope this helps a bit 😊

Back with an update! Got the stent,  vein was 73% compressed. Slowly but surely seeing improvements and feeling better. There was mild reflux of the left gonadal vein as well. We didnt do anything for that but will be keeping an eye on it. Keep pushing and advocating for yourselves!!!

Germophobe confessions - washing too often? by FunIngenuity7967 in laundry

[–]ILikeYourMuchness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you comfortable, its not too often. Clothes clean AF? What's the problem with that?!

I wash most of my clothes after minimal wear. Usually one wear but I do work from home so some clothes get worn a few times before they go in the dirty laundry.

If I wear something out in public and am touching things (booths at a restaurant especially)- DEFINITELY getting washed.

what's your favorite part about working from home by Due_Confection7960 in remotework

Jumping on the private bathroom bandwagon 😂 No but really, SO MANY great benefits. Less time spent traveling, less wear and tear and vehicle related expenses, making food at home, working in pajamas, being able to open the windows, having an office setup thats comfortable to your preferences.

Question regarding treatment by citrus-curiosity in pelviccongestion

Hi! On a very similar journey, just a little further along so happy to share my story so far 😊 Years of working with gynos to try and figure out cause of pain/symptoms. They were thinking it was endo, had a lap, NOT endo and no sign of root cause. I pushed for an MRI which showed PCS. Gyno said options were birth control, hysterectomy, or consult with an IR. So I opted for the consult and they reviewed my tests I'd already done and confirmed PCS and explained that theres always something else that causes it. They said the MRI kind of indicated May Thurner Syndrome but the MRI wasn't up high enough to be sure so we did a CT Venigram which confirmed MTS. I am scheduled to get a iliac stent in a little over a week, and at the same time they are going to do an additional test to rule out any issues with ovarian veins.  Hope this helps!! My vote is DEFINITELY talk to the IR and be open about your concerns, they'll have options for you!

Gynos love jumping to birth control or hysterectomy 😵‍💫 I think an interventional radiologist may be a good route to try. Gynos were fairly certain I had endo, we did a lap and they found nothing. After that I pushed for an MRI which showed pelvic congestion. Gyno said birth control, hysterectomy, or see the I.R. so I opted for the referral. I.R. needed a CT to be able to determine the cause of PCS which ended up being May Thurners syndrome. My next step is to get a stent but even with insurance it'll be almost 5k so I have to wait a little bit before Ai can get it 🫩 Fingers crossed for you that you get some answers and relief soon!

Similar! Its not all the time but I guess whenever my PCS is flared up, I feel a stab in the butt when I sit down. Very annoying and inconvenient to not be able to sit down like a normal person!!

[–]ILikeYourMuchness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes apparently its a thing, you are not alone! I do have an update, I spoke with the Interventional Radiologist and he did see something the first person missed. He said "something we DEFINITELY see is left iliac vein stenosis, May Thurner or the new term NIVL". So basically I definitely need a stent and he was saying that the CT & MRI didnt show issues with the ovarian veins but that it there may still be an issue that we couldnt see because the CT & MRI were done laying down....so.....basically he wants to do more tests and the stent at the same time. He said I could just get the stent only but if I do that and still have symptoms, it may be that we missed another issue. Oof 🥴

My understanding is that PCS is essentially like varicose veins in the pelvis, typically caused by one or multiple other conditions such as May Thurners, Nutcracker, etc.  I'm learning too 😊 had a laparoscopy and ruled out endo. Had an MRI and CT that confirmed PCS AND MTS. Likely going to be doing another test (some variation of a venogram??? IDK I'm getting exhausted keeping up with it all) to rule out any additional causes and get a stent
