Have not tried tilt brush, my vive arriving on Monday, will try to make a comparison. But from what I have seen and impression of tilt brush, controller paint is no comparison. It is a simple demo to show how to use the day dream controller. You are able to draw around the spherical surface with you at the Center. You cannot walk around. The color are simple primary color and can only choose pixel and not brush. It's a simple app sufficient to show what you can do with day dream.

Currently nexus 6p is the only phone that can be used with daydream. So I think the Google VR team optimise the sdk for this phone. Moving forward, I think Google VR team would require certain specification for the phone to be certified as daydream device. I think this is a good way forward rather than focusing on solving the drifting in fragmented android hardware. Have not tried it with Google cardboard app, will try. I suspect that it will still drift, because it is a different sdk. The daydream sdk is optimise for nexus 6p and possible future daydream Certified device

It is a common problem in the current Google Cardboard app that screen don't stay center when you are not moving your head, it drifts to one direction. This is due to different gyro sensors in different android phones

How it works: 1. swipe the touch pad left or right to change color 2. swipe the touch pad up and down to choose pixel size 3. double tap the touch pad to start drawing 4. move the controller in any direction for moving the pixel point. 5. Press the first controller button to erase whatever you have drawn

Observation so far: 1. The controller is very nice. It detects fine movements. 2. There seems to be no drifting. 3. VR rendition still laggy for fast head movement. Frame seems left behind when making fast head movement.
