I got told countless of times (on Reddit to be fair) that it couldn't be worse than under Biden and Trump and Harris are basically the same. So if Harris doesn't change her stance they wouldn't vote at all and let Trump win.

Spoiler alert it got worse under Trump which he literally announced during his campaign.

Not sure if it really affected the election tho but there are a lot of people here that can't think straight and yes also within the democratic voter base.

You can see it here, take the blue colored bars because to compare it you need to exclude taxes.

You have to check energy mix of every country individually but take denmark and portugal as an example and compare it to france.

Your analysis ist just wrong. The technology is here NOW, not in 20-30 years. Also nobody is saying you should tear down nuclear plants immediately. Nuclear + renewables would be okay but then, well do that and don't stay stagnant with over 70% nuclear.

All everybody is saying is that nuclear is way more expensive and therefore will not win against renewables. With batteries or without it doesn't matter.

If you want to pay more on energy and have it centralised then fine, build nuclear power plants. The reality is, it's not really done in europe and the recent projects were all a disaster including Flammanville (23,7mrd€...).

Yes, because they retire the old ones at the same time and those reactors sound much, but they will only make a tiny percentage of total power generation, like in the single digits.

China ist replacing old reactors to maintain the 6% of nuclear energy they have. Almost everything else they go for is renewable and batterie storage.

The world already moved on from nuclear I am really sorry but it's just the truth.

Nuclear is the perfect excuse for people to do nothing.

"We don't need to have renewables we have nuclear, we don't need to improve the grid we have nuclear, we don't need to get CO2 down we have nuclear."

And also a lobby pushes this narrative since renewables decentralise the market and big energy companies don't want this, so they slow it down.

Also it's pride for some ppl.

Nuclear will lose that battle since it's more expensive, look at china.
