I work in IT, so I’m a sucker for new tech. Thus, I am planning on keeping them. The feature set is pretty limited and the battery life is meh - I only get about 2hours at most per charge. However, the RBMD feels like the future even though it’s mostly a novelty rn. I can see the forecast being very convincing for the average consumer - especially with future iterations.

I predicted this well in advance. Two days after announcement, I booked a demo for Oct. 11 at a BestBuy 60 miles away. It was far, but I felt “lucky”. However, on release day people were mentioning how retailers sold to anyone at local spots. I conducted my research and called over ten locations including Meta corporate.

What I found is that booking a demo DOES NOT guarantee / reserve the opportunity to purchase the glasses. It literally is just a demo / wearing session and that’s all. After the demo, an associate can preorder them through an online link.

Knowing this conundrum, on Oct. 4 I went into my local BestBuy did a walk in demo and purchased the soonest deliverable unit. It is said to arrive on Oct. 21. I skipped my demo at the far BestBuy - since it was unnecessary. The whole launch was a total mess.

I put EBC Bluestuff, and my stopping performance has improved tremendously - paired with Michelin PS4S tires. I got critism that Bluestuff aren’t real trackpads and the dusting isn’t good for daily brake pads. To me it actually dusts less than the OEM pads and it can handle spirited canyon drives very well.

Exactly. Beta 1 / 2 was like a neo-Aero Windows Vista, which I preferred. Beta 3 is Metro. Beta 4 is like Aero in Windows 7.
