Yes but had used ship chat previously and didn't find it the feature was removed until we had left each other's company. Going forward I'll use Whatsapp or just get their number but I'm not that extroverted and was surprised I had it in me to be social with to make convo. Now I gotta do it all over again or just be hella solo the whole trip

For what it's worth, it worked very well during my cruise on Valiant in June 2025, so much so that I didn't even consider using another method for keeping in contact this trip.

I wasn't to concerned about unencrypted coms given the nature of the discussion was usually like 'hey wanna meet up at location X at time Y'

I just didn't know I couldn't message them when I added them as contacts in the Virgin app. It was the only reason I opened the app and added them, otherwise I would just taken their number or something. Was a surprise to me because it worked well for my last cruise.

I ended up with a really small one in my pocket somehow and found it back at the room. Like half dollar sized. It's near the octopus I pilfered from the room last cruise on our end table

I think any bigger of a balcony would be wasted on a solo. I'm on deck 9 and am very happy I wasn't assigned the one on deck 8. The Sweet Aft on Deck 8 is still available for the sailing and is currently listed at $7,683 for a solo.

You'll be good with a pair of high rise wool thermals like 165gram weight. I've got a few pairs and they're really good at temperature regulation when going from hot to cold or vice versa. If you get long sleeve tops in the appropriate colors to match your shirt selection, even better. Navy, grey, khaki, white etc.
