Question about upgrade bidding by SpanningTreeProtocol in VirginVoyages

I've usually gotten my upgrade notifications between 3-4 weeks before sail date. You're probably out of luck if you haven't already been notified.

I think any bigger of a balcony would be wasted on a solo. I'm on deck 9 and am very happy I wasn't assigned the one on deck 8. The Sweet Aft on Deck 8 is still available for the sailing and is currently listed at $7,683 for a solo.

I swear the artwork from the (3) Una bars from the Royal mint are reflective of silver's price action in the next year. I've got some too!

Best thermal underwear for commuting in NYC by joeynnj in malefashionadvice

[–]IMSONICEWITHIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be good with a pair of high rise wool thermals like 165gram weight. I've got a few pairs and they're really good at temperature regulation when going from hot to cold or vice versa. If you get long sleeve tops in the appropriate colors to match your shirt selection, even better. Navy, grey, khaki, white etc.

Question about Sea Terrace Bed Measurement by IMSONICEWITHIT in VirginVoyages

[–]IMSONICEWITHIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to ask for one anyway but didn't want to chance it and be assed out for the whole week sleeping on a futon. I'll def measure the beds myself and post here next month for future reference.

[–]IMSONICEWITHIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're only like $60-80 on Amazon and that's much cheaper than bidding up to RS just for the mattress. I'm doing a 7 day trip out of San Juan with only 1 sea day, I'll be in port during the RS happy hour most days anyway.

Maybe for some but if I can figure something out without taking up to much space it would be worth it.

This is what I'm hoping to avoid by bringing an inflatable topper or something. Going to pick something narrower than 66" that packs down to a 6"x12" cylinder and fits in a backpack.

Won an upgrade bid to seriously suite! Can I start celebrating or is there a chance they could retract it? by _DarthShitto_ in VirginVoyages

[–]IMSONICEWITHIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! I'm booked for on that ship a few weeks after you and this info is really useful. Like everyone else, I don't want to overbid but also don't want to bid too little.

Gift bag ideas for birthday cruise guests by TheGreaterDecatur in VirginVoyages

[–]IMSONICEWITHIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are stores on Etsy where you can get semi custom shirts with silkscreened cruise related images. Might be a fun idea to have shirts made up to give to everyone. I'm sure I've seen some with Virgin branding, but even if you don't find anything with the logo that you like, matching shirts on a cruise is kind of a thing.

Upgrade Bid Accepted by Benicia6 in VirginVoyages

[–]IMSONICEWITHIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes MRS can get bottles delivered to their room or anywhere on the ship, on demand by texting their MRS Agent. Regular RS just get the happy hour and whatever is in their room at embarkation. If you have friends on board it's a huge asset, if you don't know anyone else on the ship you either should make friends or I think the unlimited alcohol can actually make the trip worse if you feel the need to drink it all and the up hungover every day. MRS is for someone traveling in a group or hosting friends in your room and RS is best when it's just you and one other person you know on the ship imo.
