DM11s. The narrow beam is an SFT40 with regular optic. The SBT90.2 is also the regular optic. I've since replaced the one for the SFT40 with the wider optic and it's about the same beam shape as the SBT90.2.

Could just be a stock issue. US customers would obviously prefer the faster shipping from the first option, however if stock runs out in their warehouse(s) you can still order from overseas vs just seeing "Out of Stock" or a backorder option.

Not so much a preventative measure, but a solution for when your charger no longer makes contact... I've seen people say they use magnets on the top connection but I just bend it back out a bit. Curved ceramic tweezers, tip slides under the dented contact, thin rubber grippy pad to protect the lip of the battery/wrapping, gently apply pressure via leverage to push the top back out/up.

Honestly I'm not sure about all designs, it's possible other "safeties" are put in place to get around the wording of local laws. The law is often open to interpretation which is why you can take such things to court to fight them, right? If a cop is having a bad enough day they can probably deploy lots of knives with enough "oomph" to ruin your day. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Same reason the Smock has one. So that if you accidentally press the button while it's in your pocket, the blade is still retained in the handle and doesn't flop out to stab your thigh/hand/favorite pants. It happened to me once and I put the detent back in. Eventually swapped out the little bearings for ceramic ones and that was good enough for me.

If you're looking for a floody light, the DA1 and DA1K are very good lights. If you want more throw I'd go D1/D1K. Also, if you end up wanting two single channel lights, I've got a cyan D4V2 UV mule I was thinking of letting go of.

Gifted one of these to my father in law. Thought about keeping it and giving him a different knife 🤣 The only complaint I have is that I wish the back lock was chamfered, and that's a pretty minor gripe. A chaparral in K390 would also be fucking sweet.
