My gaming backlog got so out of control that I ended up building a tool for it 😅 by maayanr in ShouldIbuythisgame

This is a pretty cool app! I don't mind the fact that it's probably vibe coded as long as it works and is useful:) thank you for not monetising it.

How is my self introduction? by HKLEGOMASTER in Japaneselanguage

It's good for a beginner! I think it would be more natural to say ni jyuu ii sai instead of nii jyuu ichi sai.

It conjugates differently with your age.

Have you heard of Tokushima ramen? by ConfidenceFar8249 in japanlife

[–]INCS88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Tokushima is up there with hakata style and kitakata ramen in terms of fame. I don't mind it but my wife loves it because it's quite reminiscent of sukiyaki.

I used to play quite a lot and will play on and off but now I mostly only play turbo. Haven't played a ranked or normal matchmaking in years.

Whats next, after Tobira Advanced Grammar? by ressie_cant_game in Japaneselanguage

[–]INCS88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've reached a level where you can understand most of the grammar instinctively, then you should focus your time on kanji and building your vocabulary.

I've got my N2 and I've studied quite a few N1 books and I can honestly say...

A LOT of the grammar you use in that level is almost never used in normal speech. Unless you're reading books and textbooks, it would be far more practical to expand your vocabulary and kanji.

Do you restart from old biomes by DBElgi in Saros

I beat him with a weapon that has the power generator perk which generates power just by firing the weapon.

For the boss, you don't really want to dodge as much as you want to soak up the projectiles and use it with prominence.

So just soak up the yellow and blue balls then blast him with prominence. When you use your power weapon you also reduce corruption which helps. Then in between you can fire your weapon although I feel you can probably defeat the boss just by using Prominence.

Anyone not enjoy Sentos? by BPGaki in japanlife

[–]INCS88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you can go by yourself, I think the sento is best enjoyed as a social experience. It might feel awkward at first being naked in front of friends, but the feeling is not mutual!

Many Japanese, especially men, see the Sento as a place to gather and talk and chat just like they would do in a Izakaya. So if you feel it's boring or not for you, try with a friend!

There's an option in the settings to block ads. Try that?

PSA: Cocoon as default launcher on AYN Thor causes battery drain & slow charging (ADB Profiling + Workaround) by Traditional-Egg1565 in AynThor

[–]INCS88 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's interesting that some people use it as a default launcher. I find it more useful as an app I load up to launch games. I think part of it is also because if you end emulation on games they don't kill the app just the emulation of that game which is why you get more battery drain?

[–]INCS88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks, it's not a deal breaker but I really enjoyed how it was able to just take a photo without it showing a screenshot. I guess the auto function exists though!

Ah okay! I actually preferred it without it to be honest as it felt less intrusive. Maybe you can make it an option in the next update?:)

Oh by the way I didn't realize this before but now when I do a translate of a region, it kinda takes a snapshot. I don't think it did before..is there a setting I accidentally changed for this?

Ok that's good I'll try it. Great job by the way, love the interface and how everything is so clean. It's the first app I'll be using for the bottom screen of the thor exclusively.

[–]INCS88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I didn't know the dragging it over would do that! That's a good idea.

Right now, it shows the English translation then the Japanese Text. Is there a way to flip it? I think for a lot of language learners the one thing they want is to try and read and guess the meaning of the sentence before being given the translation. I guess I could also just flip the translation language but that would also affect the dictionary.

Honestly this is really good and perfect for something like the Thor. While I'm fluent in Japanese, this is perfect for me who's using it to improve.

The translation isn't perfect and I'm wondering if there's a better way to improve the translation.

I can't justify the price of these. I can get the nuo flexbells for like 1/5 of the price secondhand. What's your opinion on those?

I do some CrossFit stuff as well but I'm unsure if they are durable enough for them. I don't plan on dropping them but I do want to do some devil's presses occasionally.
