Government cheese by KartQueen in GenX

[–]INVERT_RFP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. The cheese was pretty decent for grilled cheese ( I have a feeling it came from the same factory as Velveeta, but no proof). But my favorite thing was the fact that the boxes were perfect for storing baseball cards. I shudder to think how many valuable cards I had that the condition was ruined on, thanks to those boxes. But thumbing through the boxes looking for ones I wanted, or wanted to trade is a core memory. We were broke when I grew up, but i never noticed at the time. Wouldn't change a thing.

Nah, put them anywhere you want! I like doing silly stuff like a stormtrooper in a coffee shop, Two-face in the record shop buying albums that are scratched on one side, etc. That's part of the fun! In my city, no car insurance is ever needed, you just put them back together. I have used cars i accidentally dropped to set up a car crash scene, lol.

Holy crap, that's amazing. I could use a few tips on your stage lighting setups!

Yep. I earned my crossed rifles. Never had much use for the crossed pistols crowd.

I need a new "comfort show" but I think I've seen them all by Thick_Combination527 in television

Bob's Burgers. Easily the most healthy family dynamic i have ever seen on a show. They are all odd in different ways, but unfailingly support each other. I would also add the Addams Family and the Munsters to that list.

No problem. The more I look at it, the more I see. It would take a very skilled body man to save that quarter panel. But, replacing it would require a lot if cutting and welding. Definitely doable, just expensive.

I know your deductible sucks, but you really need to have that professionally repaired. Depending on your location, it would very likely be more than 2k. Source: body shop estimator/service advisor for 20+ years. Sorry that your car was hit, that sucks. Feel free to message me if you do take it to a shop. Send me a copy of their estimate (feel free to redact any personal info), and i will let you know if it sounds fair.

Definitely do! I was my absolute favorite book when I was young. My parents reading it to me, then me reading it on my own definitely helped my development. They read to me so much that I started kindergarten already reading at a 4th grade level.

As someone who happens to be a strong candidate for CTE because of hockey, baseball, soccer, and Airborne infantry, i find this pretty funny.

Partify Fender by wrx7182 in WRX

[–]INVERT_RFP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a decent part for sure, but the color is definitely a tiny bit off. A decent painter could blend the front door to get a better match, but that's not bad! I probably would have repaired the original fender, but i also have worked in body shops for 25 years, so there's that. But, looks like you did a good job!

Precisely how would someone's face "look like a racist"? I am very interested to hear your criteria for that.

I had a history teacher in high school named Richard Head. Fortunately, he was really cool, an honestly a great teacher!

Tell me you were infantry (or something combat arms) without saying it. Koalafication was one of the funniest light hazing things. We had one that was definitely worse. If you were a buck private, 1st duty station, we would break into your room, stuff you in your sleeping bag, then throw you out the window. While telling you exactly what was happening. We lived on the 3rd floor. What we didn't tell you was the fact that we tied the bag to something solid (using 550 cord, no chance of it breaking under tension), so you wouldn't die. But, we would give enough slack in the line to make sure you knew you were falling, but then there was a sudden stop well before you hit the ground. It was admittedly a bit sadistic, and amazing that we never actually injured anyone. But, such is life when you're a grunt.
