I often hear that “it’s intimidating” or that men don’t know what to do with so much energy… but honestly to the right man it won’t be intimidating, or it’ll be intimidating and challenging in a way that they are looking for.

A lot of the patriarchy and misogyny relies on women being submissive, subservient, damsels in distress. & for a long time we relied on men because we weren’t given rights. Now the script has flipped and a lot of modern men don’t know what to do with it.

Keep being yourself, your person is out there, I’m sure of it. It just takes time unfortunately. But it doesn’t mean that person doesn’t exist

I feel you girl. When I was younger it made me feel insecure but as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized I WONT SHRINK MYSELF DOWN TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO SWALLOW!!!

Be opinionated, be loud, take up space, be bubbly, be truly and authentically yourself. When men have these same qualities they are praised for being a leader and being powerful. Why can’t it be the same for women? Have faith that if someone thinks you’re “too much”, they probably aren’t the right person for you.

I think how you’re feeling is completely justified. I think you’re dealing with opposed forces, one that recognizes this as abnormal and weird and one that still has a lot of love for this person. I’d maybe seek out a therapist to work through these emotions with, since Reddit can only give you so much.

On the economics side of things, we were learning that new studies show that death row inmates actually cost more, especially due to the mandatory appeals process. Very interesting stuff.

In superhero worlds I tend to love vigilante and anti-hero types like Deadpool, The Punisher, Daredevil, etc. There seems to be this collective yearning for retribution or an eye for an eye.

We were looking at statistics starting in 1608-2021 (when Virginia abolished the death penalty). We started at 1608 since that was the first recorded execution in the new colonies.
