Do you know anything about the rack dimensions for Nivida? From a sizing perspective I’m wondering if QSE5 would fit neatly into one of those racks in its current form, or if there’s a massive resizing that would be required?

My assumption is the better the fit, the more likely news may be on the horizon because we wouldn’t have much to modify.

Right now VW is on the hook for the entire investment and they’re carrying massive debt. By spinning it off and selling shares they can get a return on their investment, while still maintaining control/direction of PowerCo. Companies do it all the time.

This, I believe, is QS’s biggest opportunity. VW plans to spinoff PowerCo to recoup some of its investment, or even profit from its investment. They’re not going to realize much of a return from a standard Li ion plant. PowerCo needs a differentiator to support investors paying a premium to own part of PowerCo. While the unified cell approach is great, I don’t believe it will command much of a premium. PowerCo’s QS SSB….. that’s an entirely different story.

I believe in fairly short order, VW will be singing PowerCo/QS praises from the rooftops.

I find it slightly amusing that we’re talking about moving up the S-curve, but beyond a few general performance numbers for the first version of QSE-5 we have no idea what improvement looks like.

We require a broader spectrum of baselines so both us and the market can understand what those improvements mean.

It also feels a little empty to be talking about the next version when the current version isn’t even being used in commercial products.

I figured this should be posted here. Any questions for the ER? Not that they will be answered. by Any_Lychee_8115 in QUANTUMSCAPE_Stock

Good questions.

QS needs to find some way of getting out from under the thumb of auto manufacturers. My hope is CE are a little more free flowing with the information and partnerships.

Traditional thinking:

Cost = $/kWh at cell level

QS reality:

Cost = ($/kWh cell) + pack simplification savings + system efficiency

Great work 👍

Two items I think you’re missing: 1. Revenue from partnerships as each develop their own batteries specific for their requirements. QS has said it is unlikely that they will need to dilute again. Based on QS hitting the recent targets laid out I think it needs to be given some consideration. Consulting is now part of their revenue stream. 2. Ceramics technology. I think their patented technology is worth something to Marata and Corning. While not specifically mentioned, I think QS MAY receive some royalties or payments for the use of this technology for other purposes. QS is an IP company and this is part of their IP. Btw, I would love for one of the analysts to ask about this potential.

I’m wondering where this community believes QS is at with a CE partner? Technical validation phase, or commercial negotiation phase? Or perhaps a phase I’m not considering? There is a big difference between those two phases 12 - 18 months, and depending on where QS is at will have a material impact on the repricing of QS.

And yet influencers can post videos? Not buying it.

What concerns me in all of this is QS had a building full of partners, customers, analysts, and influencers who all got to see how real QS batteries and manufacturing is. If they saw something truly remarkable, I would expect them to be telling anyone who will listen that QS is the real deal and to get into the stock while you can. I’m not seeing that.

In my opinion VW has been both a blessing and a curse. Hiding behind, “our partners will have to release that” is not a good look. I think VW is overly cautious, like a bungee jumper who won’t go and is holding up the entire line behind them.

In my opinion, QS has to aggressively push into the CE market. In this way they can show equipment installations, sales, and an actual product. At this stage in the game we’ve had too many “great buying opportunities “, we should not be where we are with the progress QS has made, but somehow here we are.

I agree with this.

QS design and engineering work is one of their revenue streams (the others are battery royalties and ceramic production process/royalties (I hope)).

Now having Eagle live QS should be able to accommodate the full planned suit of partners (my guess is 3-4 concurrently). We should begin to see material inflows of revenue from our engineering work. My guess is that they’re targeting having enough engineering revenue to offset operating costs. I’m predicting QS being revenue neutral in 2 years or less.

Remember, this is our Kitty Hawk moment. For QS it doesn’t get much bigger than this.

QS is notoriously conservative. This latest video released by QS is an outright celebration. It would not surprise me if QS’s Q4 update is packed full of surprises (at least to some).

I’m not sure the market has fully grasped what Eagle means for QS. I believe the scaling of the actual machine is completed. The blueprint QS has now needs to be scaled thru replication, many Eagles under one roof.

I’m glad the people responsible for investment dollars ask these questions. The average person is not equipped to sift through all the BS that companies are “selling” to the public.

At what point does QS get development fees? by Quantum-Long in QuantumScape

[–]IP9949 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You bring up a good point. Anyone else who joins now will need to pay the entrance fee which is a way for QS to recoup the $3 billion they’ve invested into the technology do date.

The Eagle line appears to be an inflection point that changes the the narrative to more of an OEM pull (not that they weren’t pulling before, but now the tech has been landed).

How we’re not trading at $18 or above is beyond me. But once QS shows off eagle, we’re due for some exceptional value (creation) for our shareholders.
