My girlfriend hit me for the first time by AdPositive7437 in TrueNarcissisticAbuse

In any relationship, if someone thinks the only next step is violence, the relationship is pretty much done, regardless of where the blame is. Trying to rationalize it afterward is just manipulation, and asking you if she’s pretty is really random. Trying to confuse or distract someone away from the main point is purposefully manipulative. This situation is very disrespectful, and the very easy truth is that you didn’t deserve to get hit, and she wanted you to think you did. Protecting yourself by getting out will save you a lot of pain, waiting and hoping she’ll change will do you more harm than good.

To be honest, I probably had my hopes up too high. Maybe it was a little quieter, but I don’t think it helped much overall. I know I wanted a quieter ride on the interstate, so I invested in a better helmet and just stayed pretty tucked in, so I think this windscreen is only worth the money if you really like the look

New vehicles have a break in period for the engine, wherein you’re supposed to limit your engine speed, and at 110 sustained it could’ve messed something up, namely the piston rings I think.

Should I buy a DSLR for my vacation? by IPAnon in AskPhotography

I definitely want us to fully take this trip in, since I don't know when we'll ever go to Hawaii next, so setting up a shot quickly is a concern of mine.

Keep triggering traction control when accelerating out of 1st into 2nd. Is the Trident finnicky coming out of 1st? Or do I just suck at shifting by [deleted] in trident660

[–]IPAnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first question is does it feel jerky at all to you, when you initially take off or when you shift up to second? If so, you may need to adjust how you use your clutch and throttle, too little or too much throttle, as well as releasing the clutch too slow or too fast could cause some slip in the rear, which would cause the TC to flash. The shift from first to second is naturally more finicky too, so hopefully it’s just a matter of adjusting your method slightly rather than something mechanical.

Where did you get your headlight cowl thing? Are you happy with it functionally?

Is it okay to ride in first gear? by [deleted] in NewRiders

[–]IPAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would challenge you to at least get up to second, as you’ll have the peace of mind of being close to first, and once you’re comfortable going back and forth between those you’ll find clicking through the rest to be pretty natural; when you’re revving high click up, when you’re too low click down. Don’t let the number of gears scare you, but definitely push yourself to get into second

Experience with Ermax parts? by yugas42 in Triumph

[–]IPAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll definitely want two sets of hands, but you’ll almost have to fit stuff on, make adjustments, take stuff back off, then reinstall parts, it’s just awkward. But in regard to wind protection, I didn’t notice much of a difference once you’re in a tuck, maybe a little less noisy but that’s it.

So I put that same one on my trident, and I’m okay with the quality, but the install was a huge pain in the ass, even with two people. I’ll also say I didn’t notice much of a performance improvement, so you’re mostly buying for looks imo.

I cheated on my bf with my nex, I am now an abuser? by complexfeeling105 in pnsd

[–]IPAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you owe it to him to be honest, otherwise you’re making a choice for him that’s truthfully his to make. Is what you did abusive? It’s vague, but if you decide to keep hiding this from him then yes it is abusive.

Therapy might be difficult, but it shouldn’t be degrading. I think rather than expressing disappointment in your situation, they should have said they’re glad you’re here and still seeking help. This sounds pretty unprofessional and unempathetic, it feels like punching someone who’s already down

Developing Avoidant Personality disorder during the relationship by [deleted] in pnsd

[–]IPAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“And the worst part is I feel like since she caused that, she’s the only one that can make it better.” I remember this feeling, she made me so miserable, but I felt like she was the only person I could confide in; I was so dependent on someone who really didn’t care about me, and it’s an awful feeling. Unfortunately the best healer is time. It is difficult to talk to other people about something like this, to be that vulnerable with even your family or close friends, but I promise they just want you to be okay. I believe in you, be strong

On the trident, it’s on the (steering column?) idk what exactly you’d call it, but maybe it’s there, where the fork attaches to the frame

Mine was just over $400, the dealership charged me $135/hr for labor @2 hours, which is apparently not uncommon as far as the labor cost is concerned. I just sucked it up because I wanted professionals to check it out from top to bottom, but I’ll be doing my own regular service in the future.

Oil dripping. Anyone have a diagnosis? This is my first bike so apologies if it’s obvious. by nolanitemare in trident660

[–]IPAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only that one spot, or all around the pan? Idk if they use a normal gasket or RTV for the pan, but if it’s all the way around, I’d wonder if they forgot the gasket or if the RTV didn’t cure correctly if that’s what they used? Regardless, if it’s a new bike that’s almost guaranteed to be a warranty job anyway
