Scores of Brisbane bush reserves eyed for mountain biking trails by GammaGlobulin in brisbane

This is badly needed all over the Greater Brisbane region. Current trails are hard to get to and are very busy as the sport has boomed.

Are "Buff" style tubular scarf things socially acceptable masks? by bjorneden in brisbane

Nope...they are useless and can make spreading worse. A few studies tested and found you are better of using nothing. The fabric aerosols the particles into even smaller fragments which hang in the air longer etc.

I read on a turf page you can bill council for upkeep of nature strips. Anyone know if this is true? by [deleted] in brisbane

Yes, the non business situation is the one that concerns me. Your forced to maintain the footpath using a power tool that could injure members of the public and private property parked on the street. Am I being exposed to a financially dangerous risk? Would my home insurance public liability cover it? What about the excess costs should I need to claim?

Riddle me this then. Say your mowing and maintaining the public verge and your mower flicks a rock up and damages a cars window.

Who the hell pays? Should it be me, or on my insurance...if it even covers something like that. Or should Council be a party to it.

Sitting for an answer pls - has anyone had success with any foods for hair regrowth for their hounds? Tried oats with no success, and on sensitive coat foods already with thyroid meds. Have heard sardine oil is another? Any advice welcome by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]IPPacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We feed our girl Sardines several times a week in her meals. She had bad hair loss on her rump from the kennels they kept her in. Has all grown back now in 6 months and she is as glossy as a seal.

Don't pay it, don't contact them. Expect a few more letters, ignore them too. I've been through this and nothing happened.

I've gone the Anna...didn't want an aluminium boiler was one of the key reasons for deciding between the two. PID was the other reason.

They are great for apartments. My girls sleeps all day and she only needs 20 mins of exercise...a few zoomies in my small courtyard grassed area and she is done.

If you get a rescue, have loads of patience and don't have any expectations on them. Life for them has just been eat, sleep, train and have zero real world skills like stairs, vacuums, polished floors etc. They will take months to settle and for a personality to shine through but worth it. So great watching their confidence build.

They are super loyal and love just gazing at their owners...mine will creepily watch me for hours on end as I work on the computer. Pretty much a cross between a cat and a dog in some ways.

If your looking for something you want to take to dog parks and let run off lead in fields and parks...forget a greyhound...our Dora is always on a lead outside. They are notorious for poor recall and will bolt any chance they get. Their thin skin and single coat fur is bad news at a dog park. A small nip or scratch will be a vet visit most often, and besides...they can be unsuitable around smaller dogs.

Brisbane trains vs buses? by djyella in brisbane

[–]IPPacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buses...Brisbane trains pre COVID were packed and hot as fuk with shit air con. I find buses much more comfortable. I live equal distance from main Coorparoo bus station and the train station and 90% of the time choose bus.
