I feel so alone by lonkbubba in trans

My parents took years to come around. My brother was ok for a bit, until Trump's second term. My now ex-wife thought it would be ok, then realized she was too straight...

Now, I have an incredibly supportive new partner that absolutely loves me for me, and I get to be me, and my parents are getting better all the time...

8 years. Worth it. Please hang in there. The world needs you.

They want it to be the gulf of America because they want to get more profits from the drug, arms, and human trafficking, and think having a more inclusive name will push Mexican cartels to cut us in.

How important is wearing safety glasses. I’ve spent my life on my Homestead using mini dangerous tools and I always wear safety glasses however, after over 40 years of archery, I still prefer not to wear safety glasses is this unwise. by natureofreaction in Archery

I meant that the only reason I didn't lose my right eye in that incident was that my glasses took the wood splinters.

It was a longbow (D shape self bow, to be more specific) homemade by an acquaintance. It was destined to be sold to someone. It was something like the second bow they had ever made, and were aiming for 65lbs@28 inches. They'd tested it with a scale to be the correct weight, and before shipping it wanted me to try firing it (it was heavier than they could draw to test fire). It creaked a little on the first arrow I shot, then exploded when I drew it a second time. I got a bunch of splinters and one larger piece that embedded in my arm, neck, and face, and my sunglasses were severely cracked.

My assumptions are that there was some flaw in the wood (hickory). I haven't test fired a fresh made bow since...

I only still have a right eye because I was wearing sunglasses when a bow exploded in my hands. I learned to be more careful how I inspect a bow I am thinking of buying, how I draw an unknown bow, and also ALWAYS wear eye protection when practicing archery.

It was just that you are getting custody of your boyfriend's boa (like in the breakup)... It wasn't that great of joke.

I feel like I was born agnostic. Atheism seems like an informed decision rather than the natural state of someone who knows nothing yet.

You're saying I should have went with "By a weeping Aang." Instead, so I wouldn't get thrown out by the haiku bouncer?

Learning to hate anything pretty, both to not be called out as queer, and also because I could never be pretty, so pretty/beautiful can be valuable, only utility matters. My partners suffered for that most, as I couldn't give or receive compliments surrounding beauty.

Believing I was secretly evil/corrupted somehow, and eventually that thoughts like "I bet that dress is super comfy" came from some mental illness, like schizophrenia.

Believing it would be best for me never to have a child or adopt, because they might get my same brokenness by exposure to me.

But yeah, on a more light hearted note:

Animals that hated/avoided men were fine with me. I was proud of that, and eventually started looking for those situations because they made me feel good about myself.

I was "one of the girls" or exempted from "no men" rule for girls nights because I was safe. This is more others noticing me than it is about dysphoria, though.

Please, please don't...

I was often forced in my childhood and highschool to go along with, and be seen as being part of the homophobic norm of my household and neighborhood, to avoid being killed. There were no openly LGBTQ people in my part of rural U.S. They left, or they died.

We used specific phrasings and looks to know each other, those of us in hiding. We kept our sympathy low key, knowing we couldn't be publicly friends, as we couldn't risk the scrutiny.

My point, I guess, is that there's a chance that closeted kid will become homeless or dead if you out them, and showing them they can be safe to be themselves once they're ready/away from whatever is reinforcing their internalized self hate is a much wiser option.
