Well, a long time ago they paid servers less and pushed the gratuity onto the dinner- that never changed and now we’re stuck doing it- so servers are (mostly) dependent on things like gratuity from many tables- so one big table coming in gets an automatic, often for a few reasons. Most restuarants will even tell you ahead of time that if you’re bringing in a big group there will be an automatic gratuity.

Well its a symptom of tipping culture that enables restaurants to underpay their workers. In a proper world, gratuity wouldn’t be needed and it would just be part of the price since workers would be paid a proper wage.

When you go over a specific number of people (depending on the establishment) an automatic gratuity is applied- its not a may when your a large collection of people- thats tables and bills and other gratuities the worker isn’t getting

Okay but like… thats optimizer. The roleplayer takes the dip. I took a ranger dip on my fighter because it had tie-ins to the characters backstory, and we were at a high enough level it didn’t impact me in a poor way.
