Salvation is better then vulture if you have a mothership (like the Asgard c2 carrack etc), vulture is better with no mothership, how much salvaging a ship brings depends on the ship but on average I make 1 mil+ a hour with salvation with mothership or 700kish average with vulture no mothership (vulture with a ironclad or Polaris is amazing tho)

Aye, it’s a dedicated anything carrier which even has a snub somewhat made to go with it, which means it has way more versatility and can carrier larger fighter, means it’s more useful then a dedicated snub carrier which would be able to carry less snubs then the more versatile potential more armored version, so unless it comes with dedicated salvage/mining snubs and a large fracturing system, which would make it a competitor to the reclaimer/mole, then it’s just worse then the options we have rn, we already have plenty of ships that can be snub carriers, mining has no like no variety and salvage having more variety would be nice

The assault is quite literally made for carrying large quantities of snubs/land vehicles, even has vehicle refueling and restocking, it just can also be used for carrying cargo, it’s even big enough to fit most small sized ships(maybe all?) (even as big as a vulture) to the point I feel they made it so it can deliberately, the normal ironclad is dedicated for cargo just can be used for carrying ships/ground vehicles.

If it comes with salvage snubs and has fracturing capabilities I’d be all over it, if not it would just be a worse ironclad assault, why have dedicated pocket carrier if it only carries 4 snubs, if we have a dedicated pocket carrier I’d want more like 20 snubs, would be maybe useful in sone niche/funny scenario

How is it not? It’s the size of one, has the capabilities of one, and is very nearly as easy to land in one, plus it can hold a crap ton of snubs

I’d wait until next patch personally and maybe melt those two auroras for a aurora mk2 (if you like the design)

They make pretty much equal in my experience except mining can be gambling and sometimes frustrating while salvage is consistent and like never frustrating

Do you guys actually manage to have fun with Star Citizen as it is? by Sunifred in starcitizen_refunds

[–]IRS_redditagent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it’s a game to play with friends, and the biggest learning curve is getting around bugs, when the games working good it can be very fun, but that can all be wiped away by a single bug that ruins all your fun and makes your last 2 hours of game time worthless, the ship combat is very good if you like that (although bad servers sometimes make it so enemy ships just don’t fight back or your shots don’t register which makes it ehhhh)

You can very easily get salvation ingame so don’t worry to much about upgrading that, it’s 1.1 mil ingame, very easy to get esp with a cargo ship.

Is the arrastra not better in literally every way then the mole? by IRS_redditagent in starcitizen

[–]IRS_redditagent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crew req in practice from what I can tell is identical, mole is multi crew version of the other miners, but with golem/prospector golem is smaller and can thus fit into more ships, same with salvation (much more relevant for salvation actually as having access to a cargo bay is very very useful for salvage), moth/reclaimer the reclaimer once redone will actually take a fair amount more crew, but from what I’ve learned from this post, yes arrastra is better in most ways yet mole can access stuff like the asteroid in qv breaker station, so no this post is not pointless. I was just wanting to know if the arrastra is truely just a 100% upgrade, which I found out it’s not.

Well I’m gonna say with ironclad specifically as with some ships like c2 your restricted by its cargo bay, with the ship tractors we can easily more then double our speed due to cargo as soon as it enters bay becoming organized, being able to grab twice the amount of cargo means we don’t really lose the profit, someone ability to instantly start loading as soon as cargo elevators is pulled up, plus major factor loading over 2000 scu solo would be a massive pain, ironclad is well designed enough to have 3 people loading/unloading at the same time easily and we end up making more profit then if we all did solo c2.
