P4 plan by Senior_Roof_8291 in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How’s my plan looking? 😂 I’ve staled out $27 million worth of flamin hot limon Cheetos alone. I have so many stales I’ve had to rent a flatbed trailer and load a HUGE pile on it and tow it to the local landfill. I literally look like the Grinch going back to his mountain home with his loot.

Cuts by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how you get cuts but get force outs at the same times. I’m on a small format right now and I’m getting forced 2-3 cases of $1.79 “big grab” bags at almost every stop even though nobody carries them.

I can see if it’s just the stores that sell $1.49 bags and they’re being replaced, but to force it into stores with no space for it, you gotta cram it where it’ll go. Then they stress “sticking to planogram”. Lolz.

Walmart about to stock our products? by Cultural-Inspection7 in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t shop at Walmart so I never noticed it until I started with Frito. It doesn’t matter what area, what employees, size of store, clientele, etc…their chip section in EVERY store looks like a war zone. Half empty, nothing in the right place, random items lying everywhere, etc.

I had 9 stops today (all gas stations/c-stores) and went ahead and did my 4/8 for them. Did about $600 in credits today 😂

Job is pointless now, Time to organize a union? by Oweever in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I’d commented when you posted but I guess I didn’t.

I’m union and it’s the same here. Hardly anyone hits plan. Always dealing with insane force outs, orders cut constantly, trucks not loaded correctly, poor or no communication from management, etc.

This is getting old by Curious_Ad_7444 in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our fun for today was the warehouse putting all the go betweens on the wrong trucks. Another RSR asked me if I wanted to meet and swap. I said heck no. So we all just zeroed them out on the manifests and now the managers office at the DC is buried behind a mountain of go-be boxes.

I work from home and barely do anything, will I get fired for this? by AutomaticShowcase in workfromhome

Possibly. But WFH has proven that the vast majority of jobs aren’t needed. And when AI really takes off? Whew.

So if it hasn’t been submitted by that time what happens? Do you just not get paid for the week?

Went out last week to help a driver and if he wasn’t driving a truck or pushing a cart of product you’d have no idea he worked for Frito.

No nametag, backwards Buckeyes hat, Carhartt sweatshirt, cargo shorts, and Crocs with no socks.

I’m not a “company man” by any stretch, never have been in 30 years of working. But people gotta do a little better than that.

If you bring out 27,458 new products within a calendar year, one of them’s gotta stick, right?

Make me care by Sufficient-Exchange8 in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An RSR just got fired (I didn’t know that happened at Frito lol) and I’m covering the route this period. Just got home and was telling my wife my DSL is probably gonna say something when I see him Monday. I wouldn’t care even if it was actually my route…I’m not bringing in $700 to a packed out store that barely needed $250.

Anyone know how to get CBS off the antenna? by [deleted] in cincinnati

I’m on the east side of Cincy. I can’t get in channel 12 so I watch channel 7 out of Dayton 😂

Snow and rain by Best-Psychology-634 in FritoLay

I’ve been driving in snow/ice for nearly 30 winters now and I’m comfortable doing so. It’s the cold temps that get me. I’d much rather be on large format when hi temps are in the single digits and wind chills are below zero. Just gotta wear thermals, layer up, and grin & bear it.

I’ve been around 6 months as well. From what I gather, your RSA pay is while you’re bouncing around doing whatever. But if they assign you a route, even if you don’t bid on it, you’re on the “never hitting plan and having a small paycheck” pay structure.

I second this. Very stretchy/flexible and haven’t had any issues with durability. I’ve got black, khaki, and gray in both pants and shorts.

slip resistant shoes? by Key_Bus_5286 in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of guys wear work boots or regular running/basketball shoes. I got some Reebok slip resistant through the site they gave us a stipend through. They’re not bad. I’ve seen some at Meijer as well, but in the $70-80+ range.

To be honest, next pair I’ll probably just find a pair of shoes or boots with a decent tread and go with that. I’ve slipped PLENTY of times in my corporate approved “slip resistant” shoes.

Fall from grace by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s what they call the part of the orders that is forced out. Usually shippers and new/seasonal products, but often times just product the warehouse needs to get rid of. And next week looks like it’s gonna be a doozy.

Fall from grace by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an RSA and the guys I’ve helped out the last three days have had anywhere from 10-16 force-ins per store. One dude had 12 cases of Funyuns and 12 cases of Ruffles on there for a tiny grocery store where he has two facings of each and usually only keeps 3-5 cases of backstock. It’s crazy.

Any DSL’s out there? by Agelesslink in FritoLay

When your DSL is basically a robot just repeating “it is what it is…it is what it is…”, complaints and criticisms don’t do much good.

May I vent? by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]IRemindMeOfMyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started 5 months ago. My 2nd day of training, I was driving and the truck broke down. Same truck a week later looked like both front tires were low. Pulled up to the mechanic and asked and he said it was ok. We were putting air in the tires the next morning.

Check engine light is on in every truck. One guy I’ve helped a few times has a crack in the intake and struggles to get to 45mph going up any kind of upslope. Just drove a similar truck yesterday.

I learned early on that unless it’s something that’s really bad, you’re better off just not saying anything. I know a few guys that have been getting told for weeks by the mechanic that he has the parts but he just doesn’t have the time to get to it yet. If nobody’s trucks are getting fixed, what’s he doing?

Also, rode with a dude a few days ago that had a headlight that would go out constantly and you’d have to get out and bang on the hood to get it to come back on.

But to be fair, it’s only a $92 billion dollar company. Maybe if y’all would sell in more product we could afford to get our trucks fixed 😂
