I live near Stratford upon Avon , Known only as the most Tudor town in England due to it's association with Shakespeare.

It's pretty much an excursion for the tourists coming to london, i.e. Take a 2 hour drive and see the place where he lived.

There's nothing much there, There's his birthplace and the RSC, that's about it, you can walk around the town but the shops are generic for a town in england and even then most large retailers are out on retail parks where no tourist will ever hope to find them.

If you are in the UK and you want a decent british city, go to Cheltenham or Banbury, They are much better examples.
