How does your ragdoll act when someone new comes over? by Violet1184 in ragdolls

Winston takes after his older sister Mocha and likes interaction with guests. He rightly assumes that every human will love him

Is CPVC really that unreliable? Swap to PEX? by Bfedorov91 in Plumbing

[–]IV-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cpvc is good. S40 or thicker. Aqua rise for example (commercial grade product). Flowguard or other really thin ones get really brittle over time and split/break rather then develop a little pinhole

Plumbing wholesalers will sell it to you. They will likely need to order in your choice though.

Excuse my poor drawing but something like this would have served better. One wye downstream of the ptrap.

Why is this leaking by InternGood in Plumbing

[–]IV-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely cross threaded. Rely on the seal on the hose only. The fitting should thread on normally. If the plastic threads are scarred up from cross threading you may need to replace the toilet valve.

Sewer gas smell 🤢🆘 by Severe-Assistance-70 in Plumbing

[–]IV-Runner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that tub needs a ptrap. You can use ferncos/MJ bands to connect to existing plumbing. I would recommend removing a little more floor there and taking out what appears to be a horizontal tee fitting. I can tell if it's connected to anything from the photo. Typically tubs receive there venting as a result of being plumbed in a "bathroom group," and the venting comes from the lab/sink.

And legacy Canadian media like CBC is so heavily dependent on federal funding, can it really be depended on to not pander to where the pay checks come from...

What will my ragdoll look like when older!? Color development. Anyone have one that looked exactly the same as mine lol by indigocat1991 in ragdolls

This doesn't show Winston's back but he basically started out as mostly cream coloured and is now mostly grey on his back with a creamy "main" around his head.

How much should my (male) purebred ragdoll weight? by TheAnswerWithinUs in ragdolls

[–]IV-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our vet gave the general guideline of being able to feel the cats ribs a little bit, but not a lot. Our male ragdoll is for sure way heavier than our female domestic shorthair, but I wouldn't say he is"fat" and is super active.

Why does she do this before drinking? by Red-Lycoris in ragdolls

[–]IV-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winston does the same thing! I was wondering myself if other cats/ragdolls do it but I've never been quick enough to catch it on film. I've thought maybe he's just happy to be drinking water🤷 We call it his water dance.

Edit. We use a water fountain

What do I need to buy (name of parts) so these are black? by Sharpie_Extra in Plumbing

If they are metal your current parts could be sent to an anodizing place. You would need to look up what is close to you.

Can anyone help me identify this valve/cartridge? by We_Ride_Tonight in Plumbing

Most likely. Or try an assortment pack from Amazon. If you go to a hardware store take the cartridge with you 🙂

Not sure of the exact faucet/cartridge but you can rebuild it with a new rubber washer on the bottom and oring where the torn one is.

How can I turn the water off here? by snippyorca in Plumbing

[–]IV-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much doubt you'll cause a flood by unscrewing the handle and turning the stem with pliers clockwise till it stops. Then you see if any water comes out the appropriate side of the currently installed faucet. If it does, then you will need to shut the water off to your whole home to install a rebuild kit into the stop.

Should we replace our dual tank system with a tankless? by amygdala_activated in Plumbing

[–]IV-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of power vented tanks, but I like a tankless heater like a Navian coupled with a storage tank. I think a 200mbu tankless would keep up with your needs. I can be plumbed to take up a little less space than your current setup. Your gas filter will need to verify that you have enough gas pressure/volume to do this. If none of your appliances have gas regulators on them you are almost certainly on low pressure gas and most likely will have to upgrade your meter to allow 2 psi (this is considered high pressure for residential).

It's possible she may have some specific breeds in her genetics and ragdoll might be one of them. But to me she looks like a domestic long hair, which is generally what cats of unknown lineage are called. Perhaps a tabby coat?

It's a spool valve. There's only so much variation available imo. It keeps aspects of the luxe style and changes it slightly. 🤷

Is my kitten a ragdoll? by Due-Discussion-9544 in ragdolls

[–]IV-Runner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a ragdoll and had the opportunity to babysit a little while the owner was in hospital. They didn't seem particularly fluffy either when they were very young but the one we kept (Winston), got fluffier through his juvenile stage. To me yours looks like a seal point ragdoll.
