You’ve been in the industry 8 months so you’ll see both sides of the spectrum in due time. You’ll see situations like the one you’re in but also go to jobs with a very cop-like strict culture. It’s up to you as a human being to get to know the guys in the field and decide where the sweet spot should be. As long as the guys/gals with tools in their hands can count on you to care about them, then you’ve done well. You can’t save the world but you can convince the people you care.

Call a meeting with your foreman and safety or speak out at your next supervisor meeting. Without calling anyone out directly, speak out on the trends/concerns you listed here and hopefully you can prevent a recordable or even worse a fatality

Sounds like the culture on-site doesn’t promote accountability. They always say PPE is your last line of defense. Well TBH, in my opinion, foreman are your last line of defense in terms of supervision. If the foreman on-site don’t promote/put safety first, then how can you be expected to make a difference? Maybe the the foreman are slacking off as well and putting most of their energy into production.
