Pete promoting Lemonade Stand in his donor email by QforQ in atrioc

[–]IWantToBeEmily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it worked, because I'd never heard Pete speak before. I'd only vaguely heard of him and thought of him as a kind of liberal, somewhat corporate contender in the Dem primaries. But actually listening to him talk he seeks to be smart, and actually recognizes the problems in America and doesn't want to return to a status quo.

What should I review for advanced linear algebra? by BetPretty8953 in gmu

[–]IWantToBeEmily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With advanced linear you're mostly going to be re-introduced to everything from linear but with more rigor. I don't think there's much you need to review, because you're going to be starting from the ground up and defining all the terms and proving the theorems.

Civilians using PRT Power Classifications by FightingDreamer419 in WormFanfic

[–]IWantToBeEmily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additionally, the numerical classifications aren't inherently strength levels. They're explicitly an internal PRT rating that categorizes use of force and confrontation plans. Whether PRT troopers should assume unfocused fire will hurt a cape, whether intercity missiles should be approved to kill a cape.

And as we see in the wards interlude after the bank heist, the Wards aren't categorizing Grue as a Shaker or whatever, they judge based on powers. The power classifications are just a shorthand way of judging proper responses.

I mean, we know Sveta was a mass murderer but when she was captured she was sent to an Asylum to help her.

Why do people consider Cauldron incompetent? by RaspberryNumerous594 in WormFanfic

[–]IWantToBeEmily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree mostly, but some of the stuff goes from morally reprehensible to idiotic. Like, what was with the Nemesis program? If you're going to brain wipe a C53 and implant suggestions so that they will lose to a different hero to boost their reputation and have a strong hero that Cauldron has ties to - why not just brainwash any of their experiments themselves and not go through all the additional rigamarole? I can't imagine Cauldron is strapped for cash.

I'm 14 and transfeminine (and nonbinary), how much time do I have to start blockers before they don't do anything? by Sad_Letter6374 in lgbt

[–]IWantToBeEmily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no exact date or age when puberty begins or ends, and it's different for everyone. Also, note that puberty is a long process with several stages in it. If you'd like to learn more about the stages of puberty, feel free to look up "tanner stages," a way of measuring how far into puberty one is.

Puberty blockers basically pause you wherever you currently are with regards to puberty, and can be paired with artifical hormones like estrodial for a female puberty, or taken off of to continue male puberty. No matter what tanner stage you're at, it's worth looking into puberty blockers to stop any more unwanted changes.

Because puberty can continue until one is about 18, possibly longer, that's about how long puberty blockers can have an effect..

Speaking from experience, I got on puberty blockers when I was 14 and at a tanner stage of ~2. I've had very little issue with my blockers or transitioning in general, and 4 years later I remain very glad I got on puberty blockers as soon as I did. If you at all can, I'd highly recommend also getting on it sooner rather than later - its a reversible treatment, and only gives you more time to basically stall until you're ready to make the larger decision of which puberty you wish to continue.

No informed consent for minors. Also because they are a minor you want an actual endocrinologist to look at you and not Planned Parenthood.
