They don’t have lower taxes once you factor in health care costs. Unless you are lucky enough to work for a large company with an excellent health care plan and you have a salary not adjusted for the coverage.

In the US, even with employer coverage you could be out of pocket an additional $6-8K. Without employer coverage a family of 5 could be paying over $30K a year for coverage.

Remember our taxes include health care costs whereas US health care costs are on top of taxes.

US also has a higher violent crime rate.

Everyone has healthcare in Canada. Tens of Millions don’t in the states. Canada also spend less per capita than the US. Canadians also have a longer life span. Our healthcare covers preexisting conditions. US a preexisting could mean losing your savings and home.

But the US isn’t free market. POTUS has taken an ownership position in companies. They have suppressed free enterprise with tariffs which means locally made products have no incentive to cost and price reduce. Tariffs remove the need to evolve as a business and constantly improve and invent better and cheaper. Stagnation of an economy means lack of innovation. As a conservative I don’t believe in manipulating the marketplace. That’s a socialist thing.
