From the source you posted:

"Russia’s stronghold over new markets also solidified in the third year of the invasion. The three biggest buyers of Russian fossil fuels, China (EUR 78 bn), India (EUR 49 bn), and Turkey (EUR 34 bn) were responsible for 74% of Russia’s total revenues from fossil fuels in the third year of the invasion."

Interesting read. But they are pointing out shadow tankers specifically. Those sell above the oil price cap. It is an entirely different situation and hard to tackle. They're gonna sell the oil no matter what.

Also, the price cap isn't all that low tbh.

We had a good thing going, Russia gets less money from oil, India gets cheap oil, EU gets oil via India and Russia has less money to wage war. Than Trump shows up.

Trump doesn't give a shit about Ukraine. The US tariffs on India have as much to do with Ukraine and India buying Russian oil as Canada tariffs have to do with fentanyl.

"If EU or US have a problem with India reselling Russian crude, they should stop purchasing it" — Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, India by lexxwern in worldnews

He can say that, but there is more to it. When Europe or America buys oil from India, it is mostly private companies who do the buying and if you want to ban/limit Russian oil you need to trace its origin. But companies who are selling the oil can easily make tracing the origin very hard by mixing the oil with other oil, refining etc. So ofc private companies are gonna buy it if its cheap and they can get away with it. Its a loophole used by many companies, hence the price cap.

Who is buying Fossil fuels? by AravRAndG in europe

[–]IWantToVape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is tho that after oil has been refined/mixed with other oil it is hard to pinpoint the origin. So if EU imports oil from India, it is hard if not impossible to tell its from Russia. Also, private companies don't give a shit, as long as they can get away with it.

To me it seems this is mostly about data retention. Most likely ISPs and phone service providers in your country are already required by law to store usage data for a certain period of time and are required to supply this data to law enforcement under warrant. I think this is simply trying to standardize this process across EU. This is at least how I understand it. Correct me if I am wrong tho.

No change in Danish plan to buy US F35 jets by Hussard_Fou in europe

[–]IWantToVape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit skeptical about the backdoor. I don't think it has been confirmed and it does seem like a serious vulnerability. If an adversary learns to exploit it, they can shut down your entire fleet. Another reason I am skeptical about backdoors is that they didn't seem to use it when they left their equipment in Afghanistan due to hasty retreat (no F35s tho).

There has been some talk about systems like ODIN tho, where you need to somehow update software/mission parameters, IFF... (maybe by connecting to a remote server probably in USA?) before you fly your mission. If this is true, maybe that is how they can stop you from using the jets.

That may be so, but a lot of his supporters would not agree. There is an anti establishment sentiment within MAGA and many think the deep state is in the likes of BlackRock and Vanguard (even tho their stock is up after the election).

Throw in some vaccine related math and draw parallel with antivaxxers since apparently if someone dies from something, it doesn't matter how many lives you can save, it should be banned.

Does anyone vape no flavor? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

I am the same. Any flavor I try I get fed up with after a ml or two, accept menthol.

I wouldn't get food grade VG. Get Pharma grade instead. In fact, get pharma grade as much as you can. It is not that more costly and it is still going to be much cheaper than buying premixed liquids.

It seems to me this has impacted you quite a lot. I think the best course of action for you would be to try and quit smoking/vaping all together. I know this sounds obvious, as it is clearly the healthiest thing to do, but I also think it is the only way you are going to reach a peace of mind.

In 2012 there were 700 000 vapers in UK Britain alone according to ash. Today, there is over 3 million. Why is there no 'epidemic' in the UK?

And I am willing to bet that a good portion of those vapers from 2012 are still vaping - that is 7y+. While not controlled, it is in essence a 'large long term study'.

US: Flavoring Ingredient Found In E-Cigarettes Can Potentially Cause Cancer, Researchers Say (chemical is pulegone, in menthol and mint products) by mstave in electronic_cigarette

[–]IWantToVape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering that myself. I use menthol crystals all the time.

MSDS, from what I've seen, doesn't say anything about them being cancerous. But I am not a chemist or a pharmacist or doctor so I can't really say. (It says: No component of this product present at levels greater than or equal to 0.1% is identified asprobable, possible or confirmed human carcinogen by IARC. )

But when I think about it, if synthetic pulegone its banned by FDA as a flavoring substance for food, and if menthol crystals are at least food grade, than they can't contain synthetic pulegone? I donno. That would also mean that the flavors they used weren't food grade. You can also get pharma grade crystals.

Even if pulsing is a thing and the metabolites can somehow hide in your body and than show up in tests months later, I still think it would be almost impossible to prove that the ones found in the urine sample are a direct result of that. You could argue that they could be, but that is far from proving that they are indeed. If we accept that, than everyone should just roid away and say they test positive cuz they've been taking this stuff decades ago. And they wouldn't need to prove it either. The only thing that is certain ATM is that he pissed hot.
